Desert heat not a deterrent to District 11 activists
While some other districts go dark in response to the hot Valley summers, GOP District 11 had approximately 100 precinct committeemen in attendance July 10, to hear a presentation by former gubernatorial candidate, Don Goldwater.
The meeting was notable for a nearly unanimously passed resolution, titled: A Resolution in Support of Rep. Russell Pearce’s Representation During the Illegal Alien Crisis. It credits Pearce for his longstanding fight to secure our borders and implement policies to deal with those entering the United States in violation of our national sovereignty and rule of law. It passed by an overwhelming voice vote.
Also noteworthy is a related resolution in support of Republican State Chairman, Randy Pullen, which won unanimous approval at the July 5 meeting of the Maricopa County GOP Executive Guidance Committee.
At last night’s meeting, District Chairman, Rob Haney, was presented with a bronze bust of Ronald Reagan by the executive board. The inscription on the plaque reads:
For almost single-handedly restoring Legislative District 11, the Maricopa County Republican Party, and the Arizona State Republican Party to constitutional, conservative, platform values and goals, by his hard work, dedication, loyalty and leadership since 2003.
Haney, an outspoken opponent of Sen. John McCain, was given a standing ovation. McCain, a precinct committeeman in the district, has never attended a meeting. Just as well. This one would have ignited his famous temper.

Regarding your comment that “District Chairman, Rob Haney, was presented with a bronze bust of Ronald Reagan by the executive board”. You neglected to mention that the Reagan Bust Award was JOINTLY presented by the LD11 board AND the PHOENIX MOUNTAINS REPUBLICAN ASSEMBY (Website http://www.PMRAonline.org).
