Says employers are aware of law due to publicity
Federal U.S. District Court Judge Neil Wake has refused to stop state officials from sending out notices in two weeks warning more than 130,000 Arizona businesses of the new employer sanctions law set to take effect Jan. 1.
Howard Fischer of Capitol Media Services reports that Wake said there is not enough time to consider the merits of the request by Kristina Campbell, attorney for the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund who argues that the Oct. 1 warning notices will result in “significant expense” for companies who fear not being ready to obey the new law.
