Baier flier details support of Democrats and defectors
Some readers have questioned the endorsements Republican for Janet, Maria Baier has received.
Her recent campaign flyer lists her supporters, including U.S. Senators Kyl and McCain and Rep. Shadegg. These GOP stalwarts eagerly join Democrats former Phoenix Mayor, Paul Johnson and current liberal Democrat Mayor, Sanctuary City Phil Gordon. Also on the list of Maria Baier endorsers are defectors who joined the Democrat party after initially being elected as Republicans: Councilman Tom Simplot and former Attorney General Grant Woods rank as the Benedict Arnolds for Baier.
These endorsement, along with those of Republicans State Senator Barbara Leff and Supervisor Andy Kunasek, serve to embitter the Republican grassroots workers and elected precinct committeemen who work tirelessly to elect Republicans—who then endorse Democrats.
These current Republican officeholders appear to think they can trample on the very people they turn to during their own elections. Public endorsements across party lines by elected officials are anathema to those who collect petition signatures, man phone banks, walk door-to-door and hammer campaign signs in the blazing Phoenix heat. Rewarding their efforts with a thumb in the eye after the lowly “worker bees” have completed their tasks does nothing to engender respect or future loyalty.
Worker bees have the potential to become hornets and can produce a mighty sting when provoked. Those elected officials might be surprised by the cool reception they receive during the upcoming elections.
Early ballots have been mailed for the November 6, election. The last day to request a mail-in ballot is October 26. Early ballot polling places and hours are listed here.

I will be very selective who I contribute time or money to in the future. We all have the freedom to cast our balots for anyone we chose. No one questions that basic right. I served my time in the military to ensure it. The problem comes in when elected Republicans (in my case) have the effrontery to publicly endorse across party lines after I’ve toiled for their reelection. This is unforgivable and a slap in all of the grassroots worker’s faces.
We are elephants and won’t forget.
BTW, Don’t tell me Baier is a Republican. Not when she publicly endorsed JNap over Munsil. She’s a political opportunist!!!
