Enumerated Powers Act
Arizona Congressman John Shadegg’s persistent reintroduction of Enumerated Powers Act merit’s an entire Walter Williams column.
The Enumerated Powers Act requires that Congress specify the basis of authority in the U.S. Constitution for the enactment of laws and other congressional actions.
Dr. Williams, a nationally syndicated conservative columnist and former chairman of the economics department at George Mason University writes: “I salute the bravery of Rep. Shadegg and the 28 co-sponsors of the Enumerated Powers Act. They have a monumental struggle. Congress is not alone in its constitutional contempt, but is joined by the White House and particularly the constitutionally derelict U.S. Supreme Court.”

Can you be more specific on how the Supreme Court is constitutionally derelict and the White house is in contempt?
Inquisitive minds may like to know.

Horst,
I would suggest you go pick up a copy of “Men In Black” by Mark Levin ( http://www.amazon.com/Men-Black-Supreme-Destroying-America/dp/1596980095/ref=pd_bbs_3/002-4412975-3580828?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1193392989&sr=8-3 ) and that will get you started on understanding why Walter Williams wrote this column & Rep. Shadegg has purposed this bill.

Mr. Kraus:
Since it was Dr. Walter Williams who expressed that view, it would be a good idea to ask him directly. He thoughtfully provides a direct email link at the top of his column.

Okay, so John Shadegg is consistant on an issue that goes nowhere year after year. Where is he on employer sanctions and securing the border? These issues are now the most fundamental of all, since everything else is tied to them in one way or another.
I read the other day that Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas (the same hospital where President John F. Kennedy was pronounced dead) is teetering on the brink of closing its doors. 78% of the babies born there are childrren of mothers in this country illegally and not paying a dime toward the services they receive!!
Even if the women were “guest” workers, any children born here would still be cizitens. This is lunacy, folks. Maybe our Congressmen Shadegg or Trent Franks will step out on this issue. We’d sure appreicate it.
