Their own reporters admit crimes are based on opportunity rather than bigotry
In an article titled, Robbers Stalk Hispanic Immigrants, Seeing Ideal Prey, reporters, Ernesto Londoño and Theresa Vargas detail teenage assailants attacking illegal aliens. The headline and first dozen paragraphs would lead readers to the erroneous conclusion that these are crimes based in racial bigotry.
Yet it takes the observant reader to paragraph thirteen before seeing these words, belying the original premise:
Despite their brutality, the robberies are not necessarily motivated by ethnic bigotry, authorities say. Rather, they are typically crimes of opportunity. While the majority of the perpetrators have been identified as black men, Latinos and whites have also been charged in some cases, authorities said
Just a bit of clarification for those who might not have gotten past the headline and continued on to page two of the article.
These attacks are certainly abhorrent criminal acts and the thugs should be prosecuted. But let’s also be aware that the bias comes jumping off the page rather than from the shadows.

This is typical of reporters who have an agenda to relay. Thanks for pointing out the inconsistancies in the article and the headline bearing no resemblance to the actual story,
