Diane J. Humetewa has been nominated by President Bush to serve as the next U.S. Attorney for Arizona.
Humetewa, a member of the Hopi Indian tribe, will fill the position left vacant by the firing of U.S. Attorney Paul Charlton, in a Justice Department nationwide sweep that included seven other U.S. Attorneys.
Humetewa is currently a senior litigation counsel and tribal liaison for the U.S. Attorney’s Office and was recommended for the post by Sens. Kyl and McCain.
