Touting “fiscal virtues”
Would such fiscal restraint have been evident in the ill-advised and defeated “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” amnesty package which McCain shepherded through and attempted to foist on America’s citizens? The costs involved in granting normalized status to an estimated 20 – 30 million illegal aliens in this country would have been astronomical. In California alone, hospitals currently spend over $1 billion a year on health care for those here in violation of our laws.
Was McCain such a fiscal watchdog as he attempted to influence federal regulators during his involvement with the Keating Five scandal?
McCain and Flake each have narcissistic reasons for giving one another a wink and a nod.
Flake, more a Libertarian than a conservative Republican (In 1992 he was named Executive Director of the Libertarian Goldwater Institute), has made attacking “pork” and “earmarks” his calling card. However it has been reported that his efforts have shown little success since his election to congress in 2001. Flake’s support of the nightmarish DREAM Act (an acronym for Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) a stealth amnesty bill ,granting in-state tuition to and legalizing illegal alien students, would have enlarged an already bloated federal bureaucracy.
Ditto the STRIVE Act (Security Through Regularized Immigration and a Vibrant Economy Act of 2007), which is another offering of amnesty via Rep. Jeff Flake. Note the words “vibrant economy.” They do not indicate proposals to aid American workers. The recipients of his generosity are the millions of illegal immigrants Flake intends to “regularize” at incalculable costs to American taxpayers.
Flake recently broke ranks with Arizona’s Republican delegation, voting with liberal Congressional Democrats Raul Grijalva, Harry Mitchell and Ed Pastor on HR 3685 known as ENDA —ostensibly an employment non-discrimination act, which actually grants additional benefits based solely on sexual orientation.
The costs imposed on businesses in order to comply with government mandates would be astronomical, as well as creating a tool to encourage litigation. Further, religious organizations would be forced to hire homosexuals, even as their own biblical teachings are at odds with same-sex practices.
This fact-filled speech given by U.S. Rep. Lamar Smith, (R- Texas) provides excellent information on the costs involved with illegal immigration which both McCain and Flake champion.
Flake’s benevolence on behalf of John McCain is not altruistic. It is all too evident that Flake is salivating over the prospect of assuming McCain’s senate seat. And how much better it would be to have an endorsement from the indebted Señor Senator McCain himself?
These are two peas in the proverbial pod; each using the other to forward their own political goals. They are astute enough to realize that pork-bashing has much more appeal to Republican voters than providing pathways to “regularize” illegals—which, in truth, has become the overriding issue for both McCain and Flake.

I voted for McCain when he initially ran for the U.S. House and Flake got my vote the first time he ran. Sorry to gloat here, but I wised up a long time ago. It’s not too late for others now. We shouldn’t let let them snooker us any longer.
This (above) has good insight into the duplicity of these two.

Flake is a McCain clone waiting the the wings. His stance on gifting amnesty to illegals is enough to give any taxpaying American citizens heartburn. Let’s pray people don’t vote for this clown becuase of his wide and toothy grin and blond hair.
He’s actually dangerous.
