Interested in the weather in Ho Chi Men City? The Fish-wrapper has news nearby
In a 5-and-a-half-inch by one column article, tucked under the weather forecasts of Brussels, Hong Kong and Mecca, the Machiavellian Arizona Republic reports the exoneration of former Congressman J.D. Hayworth. The headline reads, Hayworth says probe of ties to lobbyist tossed.
“Hayworth says?”
Actually, it is the U. S. Department of Justice that has dismissed a formal investigation of Hayworth’s alleged ties to former lobbyist, Jack Abramoff. How difficult would it be for one of the paper’s seasoned investigative reporters to locate that bit of information?
Strange that the paper can find little space to print this story. They had no problem finding front page and editorial placement when they were giving him the boot in favor of former state Democrat party chairman, Harry Mitchell, who challenged and with the paper’s help, defeated, Hayworth in Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District.
At that time, the Fish-wrapper used these words and phrases to describe Congressman Hayworth:
“Among Capitol Hill’s worst offenders of extreme partisanship”
”bombastic rhetoric”
”obnoxious behavior”
“bully”
“smirking hawk”
“scalding approach”
Now, the daily doesn’t have the strength of character to admit it blew a good man out of the halls of congress in favor of a weasel who changes his vote after the ringing of the final bell. Michelle Malkin’s site still has the video of the pandemonium that broke out as freshman Harry Mitchell engaged in the worst type of political gamesmanship.
The vote amended the spending bill (HR 3161) to ban taxpayer-funded benefits to illegal aliens. Congressional Quarterly reported that the incident came to light when, with the tally tied at 214-214, two politically vulnerable Democrats, Harry E. Mitchell of Arizona and Nick Lampson of Texas, went to the well of the chamber to switch their votes to “no.” The buddy system would prevent Democrats who voted “no” from being targeted as the deciding vote in future campaign ads
Where was the Republic’s outrage as their boy defied the rules of the chamber and tossed propriety overboard?
And where is their apology to J.D. Hayworth?

Harry Mitchell is going to morph into Karan English and Sam Coppersmith. They were both liberal Democrats who served one-term in Congress. The voters realized what they had actually elected and showed them the door. Ancient Harry will follow in their footsteps.

JD will wait until doomsday for an apology from these cretins. But, in truth, he doesn’t need it. He has the absolute best revenge with a huge and dedicated listening audience who tune in faithfully to his popular radio talk show. KFYI 550 AM radio has the Valley tied up from 4 – 7 PM weekdays.
Even my dentist has JD on in the office!! I asked him if he was concerned about offending, and he said he prefers conservative patients! My kind of dentist!

The Republic can’t stand conservatives. That’s their bottom line. And anyone who desires to secure our borders is mischaracterized as a bigot and racist, and given a bloody clubbing.

Thanks for the fine contrast between Mitchell and Hayworth.

Apology? You must be dreaming. JD Hayworth would never get such an admission. The newspaper has indorsed crooks and flagrant cheats. Several years ago, they actually endorsed a candidate (Democrat, of course) who misspent $25,000 in “Clean” Elections funds in a legislative race. The article reporting the illegal expenditures was in the same edition as their endorsement. No fooling!

Wish JD was still doing the heavy lifting in congress. But, how fortunate we are to hear his unique brand of wisdom on a daily basis. He read this entire piece on his program today, and told listeners how to find the site. What a pat on the back for Seeing Red AZ. Good show, chaps.

Leslie in the first comment here got it right. We’ve had other one term Democrats elected to congress from AZ and they were out the door in a flash.
Longtimers will remember that the now sainted “Mr. Conservative,” Barry Goldwater, actually endorsed liberal Karan English over conservative Doug Wead for a congressional seat. The reason? Barry didn’t like Wead’s evangelical stance. Wonder how Barry would feel about Huckabee?
We’ve had a raft of so called Republicans endorse Dems in this state. Arpaio appeared in campaign ads for Napolitano. Of course, Arpaio was a lifelong Democrat himself until he ran for sheriff. Former County Attorney Rick Romley has also endorsed across party lines.
As to Harry Mitchell, the guy is as left wing as they come, and more than a little lite in the integrity department. He was the one who featured ads showing Congressman JD Hayworth in the trigger cross hairs of a gun site. Teriffic.
