The liberal media has been in full supplication since Barack Obama gave his eleventh-hour campaign salvaging speech yesterday.
The daily Fish-wrapper, as expected, jumps onboard with a gratuitous editorial, Obama’s shining moment, which editorial writer Kathleen Ingley termed, “a historic speech on racism.” Unable to contain herself, she anoints the speech as the “most majestic and sweeping any candidate has given thus far in the presidential campaign…penetrating and fearless.” He is even extolled for “courageously refusing to disown” the vile bigot and America-hater who has been his minister and mentor for 20 years.
How many ways can one say “baloney?”
Obama addressed this issue only because it threatens to expose him for who he actually is. This was a desperate attempt to regain his diminishing credibility. Just last week, he said, I don’t think my church is particularly controversial.” When that raised eyebrows, he dragged out his ailing, White grandma to explain his own biases.
For a more reliable vantage point read Thomas Sowell’s column today, in which he describes the speech as a “theatrical masterpiece,“ and includes this thought-provoking observation: “Someone once said that a con man’s job is not to convince skeptics but to enable people to continue to believe what they already want to believe.”
Michelle Malkin covers the speech superbly in her column, Say goodbye to the Glowbama mystique. We highly recommend it.

Want some background on the liberal Ms. Ingley? Read this:

She graduated from Berkeley, was a Peace Corps volunteer, working in Africa for three years, and taught English in Iran.
And you wonder where she comes up with this drivel?

I nearly choked on my morning coffee when I read this editorial. What a load of crap!
The Sowell column is quite good, as is Malkin’s. Thank you for including the links. I probably would not have seen them. The bit on Obama’s grandmother made me sad for her. No good deed goes unpunished?

How could so many be so sucked in by this charade? Amazing.

Black nationalism. White “guilt.” and raw stupidity.

I do appreciate when Black columnist Thomas Sowell, and Filipino Michelle Malkin write so powerfully about race and expose the Obama scam for what it is.

They get it, Veronica. If you read their columns consistently, you will see that they are Americans first and have become successful because they are conservatives, educated, and unwilling to buy into the left-wing mentality that they are entitled merely because of ethnicity. That is the antithesis of what America is all about. Remember when the “melting pot” concept was celebrated? Today it is scorned and replaced with the foolish celebration of “diversity.”
