“An unsustainable fiscal nightmare”
Economic peril being ignored
David Walker, Comptroller General of the United States and head of the federal General Accounting Office, has a terrifying message for Americans:
“The survival of the nation is at stake—we are mortgaging the future of our children and grandchildren at record rates—with catastrophic consequences for our country.”

This may not be what we chose to see first thing Monday morning, or what our high-spending politicians want to acknowledge, but this is crucial information.
The current US fiscal patterns are completely unsustainable.

Mr. Walker knows his stuff and has no ax to grind. His words should strike fear in the hearts of all Americans. Government cannot continue to be our nanny. Social security is busted, yet George Bush made a tentative and ridiculously feeble attempt at repair, then dropped it like a hot rock when it became too uncomfortable for GOP politicians seeking re-election. As a lame duck Republican president, he was the perfect person to address the issue, but wimped out.
Even our GOP congressmen voted in favor of prescription drug coverage–emulating the most liberal of Democrats. It was obscene, but they didn’t want to be characterized as heartless. How about stepping forward and being characterized as RESPONSIBLE?? Tell the people the truth–there is no free lunch.

There are simply too many who believe the government will provide–endlessly.
No one has the guts to speak the plain facts. I do appreciate Mr. Walker for stepping out there and doing what our elected representatives and the president should have done long ago.

A few sensible conservatives tried to put an end to earmarks, but the attempt went down to defeat overwhelmingly. And don’t think McCain is going to stop it. He and Flake & Kyl are solidly behind an amnesty program (”after we fix the border of course, certified by Janet”…..they “get in now”….make me puke) that would add 4 trillion more to the debt. Oh those guys are truly fiscal conservatives. Aren’t we proud. Now we need all of you conservatives to really get behind McCain. Take this little blue pill to wipe your memory away, and soon you will forget how truly abysmal he is.
