Catholic college slammed for hosting pro-abortion Hillary

Pennsylvania pro-life advocates are jeering Catholic Mercyhurst College for agreeing to host a rally for pro-abortion presidential candidate Hillary Clinton today. The college could be making itself a target of a speech Pope Benedict XVI plans to give about upholding Catholic values when he comes to the United States this month, Life News reports.

This is not the first time a Catholic college has given one of the pro-abortion candidates a platform to promote themselves.

Villanova University hosted Michelle Obama last month. In January, Senator Obama appeared at a huge rally on the campus on Saint Peter’s College, a Jesuit institution in Jersey City, New Jersey.

  1. Villanova Says:

Those of you who read these comments know I have been posting remarks here for quite some time. As you can tell from my “handle,” I am a proud Villanova grad. However, this year, they will not get the usual alumni donation I regularly remit. I am Catholic, pro-life and a politically conservative voter. You might imagine I am more than upset over the events detailed here.

I intend to contact some of my former classmates and let them know about this sad turn of events. In fact, I’ll forward this article. they might benefit from checking in here from time to time. Thanks for the good information and analysis provided on this site

As the liberals control the country, so they also control the Church. Sanctuary USA OK, Homosexual Priest OK, Abortion Tolerance OK. Catholics ignore their dogma as the Republicans ignore their platform.

What a sad turn of events. Catholics leaders should lead the way on life issues. Instead they are caving in to secularism.

I taught at St. Peter’s years ago and have recently taught at Fordham. They are mainstream; you folks aren’t, just don’t know it, and young people laugh at you.

If you go to St. Peter’s campus on Kennedy Blvd. in Jersey City — or just look at their ads or website — you will see they proudly mention their most prominent alumnus, U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ), who is pro-choice.

At Fordham last fall, the book that all freshmen were asked to read was the great play “The Trial of the Catonsville Nine,” by our emeritus professor Daniel Berrigan, once considered pretty radical but whose antiwar activism in the 1960s is now hailed as courageous by mainstream Catholics.

“Young people laugh at you?” Mr. Grayson, I am just a few years out of college, having graduated ASU in 2004 and I read this site frequently. It has never caused me to laugh–especially when social issues are discussed.

I am a conservative, pro-life professional woman, who believes what the Bible has to say about homosexuality.

You are the one with the distorted views as to what is “mainstream”–obviously attempting to condone what has been known throughout the generations as immoral behavior.
