We’ve been hearing for some time that one of the District 6 Anthem legislative team of Pamela Gorman, Sam Crump and Doug Clark is taking a hike. After serving just one term, Freshman Rep. Doug Clark is not refiling for his seat.
The interesting aspect is the behind-the-scenes action. Clark has signed on as campaign chairman for Tony Bouie a former U of A All-American, retired from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Watch Bouie’s interesting video announcement here.
Another stunner is the news that Bouie was a registered Democrat until five days before deciding to run as part of this politically conservative team.
April 18, 2008 at 1:58 pm
Wow! This sounds like a con job of monumental proportions. I’d sure be interested to know what’s really going on here.
I watched the video. By Mr. Bouie’s own admission, it doesn’t appear as though he is healthy enough for such a demanding job.
April 18, 2008 at 3:12 pm
Anthem has had a lock on the legislative team for awhile now. It is the far northern end of a district that reaches many miles south as well as east and west of that area. Let’s think in terms of more equalized representation for the rest of us residing in that district.
If not, how about electing one of the New River nudists to add a bit of dash to the dull chambers down on Washington Street.

Vince,
For what it is worth, I’d sooner support a candidate who is fighting Cancer with all his might than I’d support a political opportunist who does nothing more than crap on the next president of the United States for mere selfish aggrandizement.
To the “time for change” poster, you definitively have a point, but don’t panic.
“Nude Elephants” as those associated with Shangri-La Ranch often called on this Blog enjoy much more their role working as agents of inclusiveness and prefer doing their job quietly and passionately for party strength through unity. They do carry lots of water for the great elephant.
Given the current political climate, that keeps them satisfactorily busy. I am sure you noticed.
Notwithstanding that, we welcome all Republicans of good will to join in, help is always welcome.

Political opportunist? You’re talking over my head, Mr. Kraus. I have no idea who you are referring to.
As to the candidate you mentioned, does it bother you–a staunch carrier of GOP water– that he was a Democrat until FIVE DAYS before filing to run? Maybe he had a magical political conversion? Or could this be an indication of opportunism?
April 19, 2008 at 5:01 am
Vince,
“By their deeds you shall know them” If not today, some day soon you’ll know whom I referring too.
Many individuals have changed party affiliation. Most often it is hailed as a good thing, when a Democrat converts to a Republican, except by those who felt threatened by it.
Judge not lest you be judged.

Changing from a Democrat to a Republican is a good thing if done for the right reason–such as finally realizing that the Right is Right! That happened with Ronald Reagan. Switching parties to run for public office is opportunistic. The voters are not fools. They see throough that in a hot minute.
That is what Dan Saban is doing now in his vain attempt to unseat Sheriff Arpaio. That won’t work, either. People realize when candidates are trying to dupe them. They want principled representatives, not opportunists. I’m sorry Mr. Bouie has had such serious health problems, but this chicanery does not serve him well. Did he think no one would realize what was going on? How about his “handlers?” What disdain is being shown to the people of the district by trying to scam them. Rep. Doug Clark is Mr. Bouie’s campaign manager. HE certainly knows.
April 19, 2008 at 7:30 am
By the way, I still don’t understand your vague reference to “by their deeds you shall know them.”
April 19, 2008 at 12:33 pm
Mr. Kraus obviously has no answers, Vince.
April 19, 2008 at 1:47 pm
Vince and
Maggie the one who is wrong,
If you Google the phrase, you will find much enlightenment, I am sure, but let me give you a hint.
I find it increasingly difficult to reconcile the motives of individuals with a burning desire to become part of leadership in the Republican party, while at the same time they mount a campaign, rounding up a flock of sheeples, prancing into a district’s election for delegates to the AZ Republican State Convention with an unprecedented wad of 50% write-in candidates, and prompt their clearly uniformed followers to enter the spoon fed names on to their ballots and vote for candidates that hadn’t even been nominated yet and doing so totally out of sequence of nomination.
Their lack of knowledge for parliamentary proceedings was clearly evident.
To top it off, this exercise was conducted so that they, in their own words, can send a message to Senator McCain, the nominee, and with certainty the next President of the United States.
What baffles my mind even more is that some of those folks or their spouses (the ones that want to send a message to the Senator) hold impressively well paying jobs in offices that are conducted by high ranking Republican operatives.
April 19, 2008 at 2:30 pm
Right On Horst! The trolls who infest this Blog all share the same brain cell. These morons want to send a message to Sen. McCain? Their message is this: “We are morons, we hate you, and we really want to support your opponents in the General Election”!

Horst Kraus:
You are definitely confusing Seeing Red AZ with another similarly named site. We have a policy not to make negative comments about other blogs. Neither have we ever used the term “nude elephants.” If a person commenting has used that or a similar term, we cannot be blamed for someone else‘s thoughts.
The only comments we delete are those using profanity or defaming an individual or group by promoting untruths. Hold us responsible only for what is contained in the posts. We consider name-calling and innuendo juvenile.
April 19, 2008 at 6:00 pm
Is Horst Kraus somebody’s real name?
April 19, 2008 at 9:04 pm
Okay, well to whomever calls himself Horst Kraus,
Your vulgarity is not appreciated.
I enjoy reading this website and I prefer to think of considering Republican politics as a family friendly activity. You must have a very twisted mind to develop your phrase, “crap on the next President of the United States.” I was nearly too disgusted to repeat your words. Sir, I too am concerned that this nominee is not exactly a stalwart defender of conservative principles. Would you like to make up a vulgar and disgusting statement about me too?
The Artist Formerly known as Horst Kraus obviously likes this candidate very much. What has Mr. Bouie accomplished politically to so securely win AFHK’s unabashed devotion? Or, is it that Mr. Bouie is courageously fighting a potentially fatal illness that wins your heart and vote? All this talk about nude elephants and thirsty elephants and great elephants is silly. The article states that Mr. Bouie has been a Republican for five days. He was a democrat, but in the last five days he has had a change of heart and the Republican Platform makes the most sense to him. And I have a bridge I’d like to interest you in. Does AFHK always show this much wisdom in his political choices?
April 20, 2008 at 1:41 pm
Krause and Tony Goprano have to read and comment on this site because nobody pays any attention to their own site. I looked at their site once and it was wall to wall extolling the virtues of McAmnesty. I’ll never understand how anybody can line up squarely for “a maverick.” How is it even possible? Don’t answer that and RINOS don’t answer please. Go write it on your own unread site. The 4 of you can enjoy just reading what each other has to say. Nobody else pays attention to your ignorance, that’s why you use the highly read and rated Seeing Red AZ.
April 20, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Mr. Bouie, Where do you find those charming wife-beater t-shirts? I noticed you had to look at your notes to come up with the name of Doug Clark. I would have thought that difficult piece of information would have readily come to mind without your having to check your notes. Let’s hope your “Introduction Video” is in the permanent record to pull out again as we get closer to Primary Day. And again, and again, and again. Wonder why wife-beater t-shirt guy can’t get a mention in the daily fish wrapper? Even the daily knows 5 day Republican man is gonna get burnt on the deep route.
April 20, 2008 at 7:52 pm
To seeingredaz,
Sir or Madam,
Please accept my humble apology.
I searched the achieves and concluded it was not your Blog or your contributors that called me a “Nude Elephant”.
It was an other Right Wing Nut Site that did so and that one has since bit the dust.
Good Ridden.
Your posters just call me and my friends RINO, and we can cope with that. It stands for: “Republicans with Integrity, Not Obstructionists.
I appreciate your accepting my opinions.
Forthrightly

Dear Phoenix Mom,
Horst Kraus is a real name and there is a live person behind it.
I could have called myself “Phoenix Cousin” or Glendale Nephew” but I prefer that folks that read about me know from whence the message comes.
I am for real. And I am alive. I am also in the phone book, and I have an e-mail

Anna,
Permit me to make this quick and come right to the point. If you and your associates keep on undermining the qualities of the Republican Nominee for President, you have no one but yourself to blame for the next 8 years of the United States slip further into Socialism.
I have been there, on a different continent at a different time. I know what I am talking about.
Let me be more direct!
Tancredo (Shoot’m brown skinned invaders up on the border) is not coming back.
Hunter (Isolate our Country and build a fence) is not coming back.
Huckabee (Let’s pray for a miracle) is not coming back.
Thompson (I don’t have a script-the writers are on strike) is not coming back.
Romney (I believe in the religion of my fathers) is not coming back.
Ron Paul (We don’t need no Government) is not coming back.
We have the best Candidate that REAL REPUBLICANS can wish for, and he will be our next President. His Name is John McCain.
So please discourage the Right Wing Nuts from further weakening our Candidate,
Yo all hear?
Why am I shouting? The alternative is a Democratic White House that is why.
Respectfully
Horst Kraus

I’ve just been reading and not commenting for a while. But these lowball attacks have infuriated me. Who are Kraus and his odd friend “Tony” to think that they can intrude on this very decent site using vile language and not so sly insinuation to attack people who might not beat their McCain drum?
As a native, I have lived in this state far longer than Horst Kraus. (Who knows about his odd friend?) This makes me far better qualified to judge John McCain whom I have known since he first carpetbagged his way into the congress. I am not a slavish devotee for that very reason. The man is certainly not representing me as a conservative, although lately he keeps identifying himself that way. I wonder what Mr. Kraus and Mr. Odd think of his new conservative label? Is it okay with you since he’s just doing this to be pragmatic–and winning is the name of the game? Anything goes? Hmm?
McCain is a chameleon at best, a liar at worst. He’ll be whatever you want him to be today, sidling up to Democrats, pushing for open borders with his advisor Juan Hernandez, wanting to remove the pro-life plank in the GOP platform and then still calling himself a conservative. Puleese. Now he’s on a global warming toot ala Al Gore. Anything to grab a segment of the vote.
The truth is, the driver of that forked-tongued expresser could only have hoped to get as lucky as he has with the two lame democrats who are running. Dr. Thomas Sowell said it well the other day when he wrote the only thing that could get him to vote for McCain were the democrats who are in the presidential race.
My question to Kraus and Odd Boy is why read this site if you don’t like it? The rest of us are here because we want to be. Read Odd Boy’s site and post your garbage there.

Horst Kraus:
Your apology is accepted. This site does not resort to name calling and has never used the terms you accused us of using. We appreciate your verification of our contention.
However, after you apologized, you went on to call us a “Right Wing Nut Site.” Strange apology.
This is a public forum and your comments are welcome. We hope to encourage civil debate within the political arena.

Another interesting thread for your conservative readership filthied up by Horst Kraus. Looks to me like it his intention to appear on your pages with phrases like “crap on the President.” Then, he figures, conservative’s won’t be interested in the discussion any further. I’m afraid he’s right. Seeing Red, H K is bad for business which only encourages him to visit you often. No matter how many times he offers his “humble apology,” insults like “crap on the President” continue to flow from this guy. Especially funny is his closing “Thank you for accepting my opinions.” How can one American say to another, “My opinion is you crap on the President.” H K DOES NOT GET IT. And I cannot in good conscience, suggest to my family members that they see all the interesting discussion at Red State AZ. I’m afraid they will see something by H K and paint conservative Republicans as lunatics. H K causes that perception enough without public help. I just wonder, how does Shangri La dispose of their used furniture? I guess they have to burn it.

Samuel:
Don’t let HK get to you. None of the rest of us take him even the slightest bit seriously. Same thing with his buddy “Tony.” If you’ve ever seen “Tony”, you’d understand why he is always so angry.
April 21, 2008 at 6:44 pm
Okay, Macbeth. I’ll treat it that this site is R Rated and not refer the family friendly types.
April 22, 2008 at 8:30 am
Samuel:
Don’t blame the site for the people who read it. Although few of us appear to agree with Herr Kraus, we all do believe in our First Amendment rights of free speech. Letting him have his say just points to the fallacy of the liberal thinking.
Meanwhile, enjoy this:
