Guadalupe Mayor claims ticket issued as retaliation
According to a report filed by the citing deputy, Guadalupe Mayor Rebecca Jimenez told him she believes the traffic stop was in retaliation for her criticism of a crime suppression operation the Sheriff’s Department conducted in Guadalupe last month.
Jimenez refused to sign the citation and was cited for driving with an inoperable headlight, not having registration in the car and not carrying proof of insurance in the car.
She claimed the judge will take care of the ticket for her.

Whoa! Looks as though Channel 3 wimped out and remove the link. I read it earlier, though. Judge Melton probably didn’t take kindly to the arrogant and incredibly ignorant Guadalupe mayor Jimenez acting as though he could be bought off.

What kind of crap is this? You know, I got a ticket a while ago…from a camera. Guess what I did? Paid the fine, went to traffic school like A RESPONSIBLE CITIZEN!! Want to know something else? I KEEP PROPER INSURANCE AND REGISTRATION IN THE CAR AT ALL TIMES!!! She is a real piece of work. What kind of values is she teaching? Scumbag. That’s all.

You heard it here on Seeing Red AZ first - Guadalupe mayor Rebecca Jimenez actually believes she is above the law - and furthermore openly claims that she can suborn a judge. Liberal arrogance at work, folks.

In neither case does Jimenez come off looking good. That’s left to the New Times. There’s also a story in Police Link where apparently having had some time to reflect on some of her comments Jimenez specifically says she has no recourse but to pay the related fines - in contrast to her earlier reported comments about seeing Judge Melton and “taking care of it.”
