McCain aide steps aside to honor pledge to Obama

With friends like these…..

As Barack Obama has opened an 8-point national lead over his GOP rival, Mark McKinnon, a senior McCain adviser has announced that he is leaving the McCampaign to keep a commitment he made not to campaign against the Democrat contender.

McKinnon, who was in charge of the McCain campaign’s advertising message, said he was still backing the Arizona senator, but that he was simply moving from active campaign participant to cheerleader.

McKinnon, who was a key aide in President George W. Bush’s two election victories, has expressed admiration for Obama and pledged not to campaign against the Democratic front-runner if he became the party’s presidential nominee.

As an insider, he clearly knows something we don’t. This is not a good sign.

Nor is the 8 point BO lead. They both have BO as far as I’m concerned.

McCain is a democrat at heart, so these are the people he attracts. Obama is simply more liberal than McCain, so McKinnon made his choice.

All that might be true, but since McCain is campaigning as a Republican, why doesn’t he speak to us—the conservative base? I have been waiting and hear nothing but his overtures to the Left.
What a depressing election this is turning out to be!!

Mark McKinnon is a Democrat who used to work for “Ma” Ann Richards… “W” hired him in 2000… McCain hired him to “carve-up” Mitt Romney… Read this and see if you remember this:
