The utter insanity of John McCain’s daughter sporting the keffiyeh, a recognized symbol of jihad is exposed by Michelle Malkin.
With Meghan’s own two brothers Jack and Jimmy in the US military, fighting against the very violence this garb of torture represents, she shows not only an absurd fashion sense, but an unfathomable naïveté for the daughter of a presidential candidate. Last we heard, John McCain supported the war on terror.
Also covering the subject is Debbie Schlussel. In one of the photos on this site, Mama Cindy smiles broadly alongside her inexplicably attired daughter.
Update: Responding to pressure, Dunkin’ Donuts has pulled the Rachael Ray ad.

Nothing like the insanity of the liberal mind.

She is the daughter of a Republican presidential candidate. Doesn’t anyone ride herd on her?

I might expect this from Michelle Obama. Meghan McCain is either very ignorant or doesn’t want her father to win.

What an airhead! And with smiling Cindy standing next to her in this getup, I’ll make that plural–two airheads!! What a lovely first family—emulating terrorists!

I will tell you all what is wildly foolish.
Getting all riled up over a piece of material. This is about as relevant as flag pins.
Once again, certain members of the American public and Michelle Malkin have amazed me with just how STUPID they are and enlightened me to what a waste of oxygen that is used to fuel their brains.

I wonder if the McCain’s have a woodshed at the Sedona “cabin?”

Dan:
Pieces of cloth can have great significance. How about the American flag? An heirloom christening gown passed down through generations of a family?
Even small pieces of paper matter. Would you be willing to toss away those tens or twenties in your billfold? Treasured and irreplaceable family photos?
The flag pin, of which you are so dismissive, took on added significance when Obama ridiculed it.
Many of us do not view the “piece of material” worn as a badge by jihadists as irrelevant or a fashion statement. Would you have the same indifference toward a swastika sewn on a armband or a white cloth hood worn by a Klansman? They are equally offensive and are not simply “pieces of material.”

Foolish is right… Symbols do mean things.

This proves that John McCain is a secret Muslim!

Joe, great response. You put it better than I ever could have.

Thanks, RA. I follow your well reasoned comments, so kudos from you are especially appreciated.

Glad to see the update regarding the yanking of the offensive ad. It’s amazing that ome people don’t comprehend the significance this “scarf” holds for jihadists. We’re becoming such a PC nation and poorly educated in realities. Give us ‘American Idol’ and our can of pop or bottle of beer and all‘s right with the world. I’m reminded of the Romans of old, who lost their glorious empire for want of satisfaction of their immediate desires, described as panem et circenses or
“bread and circuses.”

What a sad commentary. Our heroic Founders would be disheartened.

I have to disagree with you. Our Founders would be horrified!
As to Miss Meghan, someone needs to explain some realities to her. It seems unlikely she’ll get that lesson at home, with mom glamming and dad traveling as he is.
What a foolish young woman. I read some of her blog entries early on and realized she is self absorbed, overly indulged and appears more like a teenager than a graduate of Columbia University. Of course, Columbia is the school that bans military recruiters from its campus but invited Iranian Terrorist/President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to speak. Iran is known to export explosive devices into Iraq that are killing our American servicemen and women. Among his other fine qualities, Ahmadinejad is also a Holocaust denier who says Israel ought to be wiped off the map.
This is Meghan’s educational background, so wearing the traditional keffiyeh of such madmen as a adornment could be de rigueur to her.

Besides needing an American-centered fashion expert, she could also use a hair stylist. She looks as though she stuck her finger in an electric socket.
