Billboards that look back
Technology has now given advertisers the ability to gather information about those looking at their billboards. Some new ad boards come equipped with tiny cameras that can gather details about passers-by—their gender, approximate age and even how long they looked at the billboard. The surveillance data is transmitted to a central database for marketing purposes.
Keep your shades on and your eyes on the road.

George Orwell is not dead.
As I remarked before on a recent earlier article on Seeing Red AZ – George Orwell’s 1984 is more relevant today than it was 24 years ago, but the totalitarian regime described therein is coming about through means other than the things Orwell was concerned with.
Put another way, it’s not a global village, it’s a global Village – and that’s not a case of six of one is a half-dozen of the other.
