Where’s that carrot, John?

The Evangelical Vote

Mark DeMoss represents some of the nation’s most prominent evangelicals, with clients like Focus on the Family, Franklin Graham, and Campus Crusade for Christ.  Read this telling interview in which he cites McCain’s disconnect with the evangelical community.

The link was on Article VI blog, a reliably good source.

The faith-based electorate needs to hear something to quell their concerns from the GOP presidential candidate.

  1. Virginia Says:

Good point. We know McCain disregards conservatives, but he better give us something if he wants our vote!

How he has become acceptable to some quarters of the pro-life movement is beyond my understanding.

  2. Ron Says:

I seriously don’t think the arrogant Mr. McCain gives one thought to conservatives–other than to regard them as annoying gnats that occasionally get too close for his comfort level.

  3. Ajo Joe Says:

Sorry to have to tell you this, folks. There ain’t gonna be a carrot. He wants lose this race all by himself.
In his reality, the “big tent” doesn’t apply to us.

  4. Elizabeth Says:

This could be the death knell of the Republican party. I pray that’s not the case, but I fear the worst.

  5. Gimlet Says:

    My fear exactly.

  6. Rudy the RINO Says:

My delight exactly Gimlet. Two liberal parties, one headed by Obama, one by McCain.
what could be better? RINO heaven! Look for the conservatives wandering in the desert only it will be for more than 40 years. Look for them coming out of the next ice age right after Johnny Boy has stopped Global Warming dead in its tracks.

  7. Marianne Says:

Just read this: “McCain would like to see a man on Mars,”

So would many of us. We wish it was McCain.

  8. RA Says:

    Kudos, Marianne. That was good.

  9. Kate Says:

The question is will McCain power his new NASA adventure with wind mills or solar power? Since Johnny has taken up with Al Gore on the Great Global Warming Hoax, it does not surprise anyone that he would spend billions on a trip to Mars but zippo on protecting the U.S. from invasion. Protecting the citizens is his sworn responsibility, but don’t look for him to take it seriously.

  10. John Schroeder Says:

Losing is no way to win - ever. The carrot is moving forward, simple as that. Perhaps not as far or as fast as we hoped, but doing our best to move forward. We can make more progress in a McCain administration than an Obama one.

Politics is not a game of wins and loses - its a game of steps forward and steps back. If I quit walking forward, or at least attempting to, then there are only steps backwards. Then we have lost.
