Congratulations on a bloated baby

A state budget has been birthed. The obese little guy may never be able to take his first steps due to so much flab, but everyone is cooing over how glad they are to see him — at last. They decided to call him Bipartisan, because some of his genes got mixed up with the neighbors from across the way. Other relatives thought a more fitting name would be Defector.

His Republican aunts Rep. Lucy Mason (R-Dist.1), Rep. Michele Reagan (R-Dist.8), Rep. Jennifer Burns (R-Dist.25) and uncle Rep. Pete Hershberger (R Dist-26) chose to abandon the family and join up with 27 Democrats to cut a deal on the $9.9 billion budget.

On a 31-29 vote, the House of Representatives approved the budget that previously won Senate approval in the wee morning hours after an all-night session.

Whether or not the family can manage a reunion for baby Bi’s christening remains to be seen. In the meantime, he is scheduled to visit with Nana Napolitano, who has her fingerprints all over him.

I’d say those ‘Moderate” Republicans are giving aid and comfort to the enemy. In time of war, that is known as treason.

Shameful behavior on the part of those who caved in on this crucial budget vote. Guess they wanted to go home more than they wanted to stand tall.
I’m also disappointed with Sen. Karen Johnson, who left when the bill to protect marriage was being voted on. I really expected more from her on her way out the door.

A word to the wise: Never expect too much and you won’t be disappointed.
This is a good general rule in life, but especially true in politics.

  4. John Says:

Jana, you are incorrect on Johnson. She voted FOR the marriage bill. Does this mean I now get to be disappointed in those who are disappointed without first checking their facts? Cool…

Two lefties without primaries, one leftie leaving the Legislature altogether, and Hershberger, who’s just an exceptional leftie. Why would we be surprised? Let’s just remember all of this when Mason and Reagan pursue higher office, shall we?

Thanks for the update on Sen. Johnson. I appreciate knowing that she finally agreed to return for the vote. Good for her and US. That was a shift from what previously was going on. No doubt YOU know that? Now neither of us has to be disappointed with one another or her.
