District 18 is ground zero
The daily runs another notable front pager — this one detailing how the Arizona Republican party is in a fight to stay alive, facing tough primaries from previously lackluster Democrats, now flexing increased registration muscle.
What is especially humorous, is the insertion of the District 18 GOP senate race in the article. If they are looking to make comparisons between squishy Republicrats and proven Conservative Republicans, this is a good place to start.
Congressman Jeff Flake was none-too-happy when state Rep. Russell Pearce was eyeing a challenge to the amnesty-oriented Flake. Although Pearce ultimately decided to run for the state senate seat being vacated by the retiring Karen Johnson, the grudge wore heavy on Flake.
In retaliation, Flake encouraged his immigration lawyer brother-in-law to challenge the popular Pearce. Kevin Gibbons, the recruited in-law, has caused even the stiffest East Valleyite to choke back laughter, when he asserts his credentials, claiming at last week’s debate that, “I’m the immigration expert here.” (Press OPEN to view video.)
Pearce is the author of numerous bills dealing with immigration issues, sponsoring the employer sanctions law that clamps down on illegal hiring.
Gibbons is backed by the businesses interests which enjoy reaping the benefits of paying sub-standard wages to illegal laborers.

I’m not a stiff east valleyite and I could not manage to choke back my laughter at Gibbon’s hillarious comment that he is the immigration expert. Gibbons and his supporters like Jim Pederson, Mac Magruder, Jason La Vecke and Doug Clark are expert in holding the gate open for the illegal invasion occuring at our borders. Immigration expert? Sneaking across our border is not “immigrating.” So, Gibbons is no expert. He’s a pimp for law-breaking employers who place illegal profit above American soverignty. Like Don Goldwater says, the color of the illegal invasion is GREEN.

Good analysis, Craig.
I think Goldwater is absolutely right!!

Shame on Flake for supporting Kevin Gibbons. While we’re at it, shame on Flake for supporting amnesty.

Flake certainly lives up to his name. This undermining of a good and patriotic American such as Rep. Russell Pearce, by orchestrating the undermining of his career is indefensible. Flake is conning the voters of his district by calling himself a fiscal conservative, when in fact he has routinely aligned himself with the most liberal congressmen to promote legislation that facilitates giveaways to illegals.

When Flake sponsored his immigration bill, I vowed to work for whoever runs against him in any contest- and I will extend that to any member of his family that runs for office. Pearce is the one of the only sane elected officials on the topic of illegal immigration while Gibbons is no doubt one of those slimy attorneys who runs seminars that instruct employers how NOT to hire Americans.

And people wonder why Republicans are being thrown out of office when you have the elites like Flake, McCain, & Kyl attacking the only Republicans who represent the people. Face it, Republican elected leaders are fools.

I watched enough of the debate video to realize that Pearce has little to worry about from this Flakey relative. What a great family name. And isn’t a gibbon a monkey?

Jeff Flake will never again get my vote. Period, I am thoroughly disgusted by his actions.
