Orchestrated circus at the Board of Supervisors meeting

Sheriff Arpaio victorious again

The newspaper’s report on the uproar at the Board of Supervisors meeting today omitted some pertinent facts.

The demonstrators in attendance and overflowing outside were there specifically to denounce Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Out of 100 items, listed in groupings on the agenda, only six specifically referred to the office of the sheriff. It was actually only item number 3 dealing with the authorization of private donations totaling $6500 that caused the ruckus. Not so long ago, Gov. Janet Napolitano, exceeding her authority, withheld funds from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. Arpaio asked for citizen donations to aid his efforts.

Although BOS Chairman, Andy Kunasek repeatedly requested the crowd maintain decorum and withhold applause, he was disregarded by the unruly mob. Raquel Teran, spokesperson for the recently formed Maricopa Citizens for Safety and Accountability, retorted to Kunasek that the demonstrators had every right to act in such a manner.

Outside the auditorium, additional demonstrators chanted in Spanish throughout the meeting. The auditorium, with a capacity of 250, was packed with people wearing either red or white shirts.

The red shirted hooligans represented Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) a notoriously fraudulent voter registration group. Read more here and here.

Georgia Rep. and Speaker Pro Tem, Mark Burkhalter has written about the group in an op-ed in the Journal Constitution exposing ACORN’s efforts to register illegal aliens.

Adding veracity to the charges, the white shirts had the words, “Today we march, tomorrow we vote,” emblazoned across the front.

District 5 Supervisor Mary Rose Wilcox, a supporter of the demonstrators, abstained from voting. All of the measures passed in favor of the Sheriff’s Office, including his ability to accept public donations.

Maricopa County Republican Chairman Tom Husband, District 11 Chairman Robert Haney and Anna Gaines, Chairwoman of the effort to recall Mayor Phil Gordon, and a spokeswoman for You Don’t Speak For Me ,  were among a number of others declaring support of the authorization — which passed unanimously, after Wilcox withheld her vote.

Kraus was right. Haney and Husband are not only Homophobes and Nuts, they are also racists as they have just proven by speaking on behalf of Arpaio. You won’t find Kraus, Magruder, or Pacheco doing such a stupid thing. Go Mary Rose! We need to replace Mayor Gordon with Mayor Gavin Newsom of San Francisco. Stop pestering illegal alien criminals. They are God’s children.

If you read nothing else this evening, I highly recommend reading Georgia Rep. Mark Burkhalter exposé of ACORN’s involvement in registering illegal aliens. It’s short and linked to in the above article. Quite enlightening. We are at war with the left in our own country. This is serious and anyone with young family members should take this to heart. Then hold john McCain’s feet to the fire on the issue of illegal immigration. Don’t let him get away with saying, “I heard the people. They want us to secure the border first.”

That is pure hokum. First? Before he opens them again? First? Before what, Mr. McCain?

  3. Ron Says:

This sounds like a zoo. Isn’t the MCSO in the same vicinity? They should have been called in to quell the rowdies.

  4. Carrie Mason Says:

Asking the illegals for decorum (following a basic courtesy request of our culture) is alien to them. They do not obey our laws. Why would they even dream of courtesy when they have the numbers to shout and intimidate into submission. The Democrat party specializes in this type of politics and in voter fraud.

Then why would McCain and Kyl and other Republicans want to see our society degenerate into another Mexico? It makes no sense to me that they refuse to speak for law abiding citizens. Is it only the Chamber of Commerce Big Business & cheat labor they represent?

Bravo County Board of Supervisors, Sheriff Joe and Chairmen Husband and Haney! Thank you Anna! Talk about news you won’t read in the Republic. Wow!
Fight on Sheriff Joe, the grassroots are for you all the way.

  6. Joe Evans Says:

What is often left unsaid regarding the plucky Anna Gaines is that she is a LEGAL immigrant from Mexico who has no patience for the illegals flooding across our border. Anna Gaines is a retired Arizona high school teacher. Read about her in this Washington post article:

  7. Stanford Says:

Interesting that the AZ Republic article, updated today, includes one woman favorable to Sheriff Arpaio. This is their brand of balance? She was interviewed after the action took place. Although there were two reporters who wrote the second article, neither of them bothered to interview the GOP Maricopa County Chairman or the district chairman who spoke, Nor did they bother to ask Anna Gaines for a few words. None of them were mentioned in either article, although the Republic found room for a photograph of a smirking anti-Arpaio demonstrator, holding up a sign which they acknowledge he concealed, in violation of the BOS meeting rules.
Does anyone get the idea that this reporting is seriously slanted toward the illegals and their supporters?

We don’t have to be rocket scientists to get the newspaper’s tilt. The reporters remind me of Nurse Ratchet in the academy award-winning film, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. It’s their way or the highway.

Ratchet also force fed meds. We get the same thing, being force fed liberalism and we‘re actually paying these slicksters for it. STOP SUBSCRIBING.
Call (602) 444-1000 and tell them you’ve had enough. I did it and it was invigorating!

All I can say is GO JOE! ! ! You go get ‘m. I’m all for what Joe is doing… Now to Nappy that B!&% needs to be BOOTED from office, she had no business takking money from MCSO. They are doing a good job, with a thankless Governor, political Groups and a Media that doesn’t respect the laws of our county, State and our nation…. (IMHO)’ in my humble opinion’

On the 24th the AZC had another article (this is probably the one Stanford was referring to) about the same meeting. In that article, Mari Alvarado of Phoenix & a member of MCSA (& long time opponent of the Sheriff) is quoted as saying the following:

“He’s always had the same mentality,” … “You have to respect your constituents. His constituents are not just those who have given to his campaign – they’re every single Maricopa County resident, documented or not.”

Excuse me?!?!?! Invaders are “constituents”, what the… NO they’re NOT constituents. No INVADER, including the ones that are fraudulently ‘registered voters’ or not, is a constituent of any elected position.

Reminds me of when that vegan boy Kucinich was running for POTUS in ‘04 he was doing BS work to help an invader that had been in this country ILLEGALLY for 20+ yrs b/c he said it was his job to help every individual in his district b/c every individual, regardless of immigration status, was his “constituent”. What an idiot.

Here’s the link for the AZC article that contains the quote:
