And we thought U. S. Presidents presided over a representative Republic
Valerie Jarrett, a co-chair of Barack Obama’s transition team, appeared on Meet the Press yesterday and used an interesting turn of phrase to describe Barack Obama’s activities after he is officially sworn in as President of the Untied States on January 20, 2009.
Jarrett told Tom Brokaw that Obama will be ready to “rule on day one”
This concept reflects the dread many people have regarding the Obamessiah administration.
Jarrett told Tom Brokaw that “given the daunting challenges that we face, it’s important that President-elect Obama is prepared to really take power and begin to rule day one.”
Watch this stunning video.
This man and his incoming administration scare the hell out of me!
Would you believe these foolish words came out of the mouth of a lawyer? She must have been sleeping during Constitutional studies.
I hope you Democrats take a long hard look at this.
If Barack Obama and his incoming adminstration don’t frighten you, you aren’t thinking. And where is the mainstream media on this? Can you imagine if a newly elected Republican had a top-level staffer say something of this magnitude? It would be all over the news — as it should be now.
Wow. What a quote. Something to keep in mind for the future.
Amazing that Obama finds this woman to be spokesperson material. They have been longstanding friends, so he must have an indication of her manner — or lack thereof.

You’re all just so silly. Meanwhile, you have absolutely no interest in what the overwhelming majority of Americans are. People in Arizona who are losing their jobs are already scared, and so their friends and relatives who fear losing theirs. The thousands of homeowners who are underwater and facing foreclosure, the people looking at their 401k statements and seeing their life savings melt away – they’re already scared. The people who are uninsured and facing illness and those under-insured whose HMO’s won’t cover treatment are already scared.
And you? You parse sentences that don’t raise a normal person’s eyebrow.
If you read “The Audacity of Hope,” Obama makes a point of incorporating some of the insights of the Reagan era—such as the importance of market incentives and efficiency—but his conclusion is a call for the renewal of “widespread economic security.”
Similarly, in a speech on the economy at New York’s Cooper Union, last March, Obama said, “I do not believe that government should stand in the way of innovation or turn back the clock to an older era of regulation. But I do believe that government has a role to play in advancing our common prosperity, by providing stable macroeconomic and financial conditions for sustained growth, by demanding transparency, and by insuring fair competition in the marketplace. Our history should give us confidence that we don’t have to choose between an oppressive government-run economy and a chaotic and unforgiving capitalism.”
If that frightens you, don’t forget to hug your little security blanket and keep your night-lights on.
Your silliness is amusing but kind of pathetic. At least it’s clear you are a fringe in the conservative movement and a fringe in the Republican party.
Batboy Dick Grayson:
Surely you jest. And the Audacity of Hope is not a book I would buy. Isn’t that the book that was dedicated to the America-hating Jeremiah Wright by your president-elect? How can you call others fools when it is you and your leftist cohorts who have been hoodwinked by a Socialist?
Our nation’s Founders must be looking down in utter disgust.
You’ll eventually wise up, but I’m afraid it will be too late. Of course, you will never have progeny to be concerned about. Your hedonist lifestyle (which you have endlessly described in previous comments) will stand you in good stead, with “free” medical care and other perks which you regard as a right rather than your own responsibility. You are a true testament to government schools and the influences of the left.
