Call her Governor Brewer

Jan Brewer, who has gained a reputation as a knowledgeable and well respected Republican elected official has been sworn in as Arizona’s 22nd governor. Brewer comes to the ninth floor governor’s office with a wide array of experience in public service spanning 26 years.

Prior to her election as Secretary Of State, she served as a member of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, and was elected to both the House and Senate of the Arizona Legislature where she ably served the people of Arizona for 14 years. Brewer held leadership roles on both the board and in the senate.

What a refreshing change it will be to have this lovely and capable woman leading the state, after Arizonans have wandered so long in the political wilderness under the negativity of Janet Napolitano’s veto-prone administration. Napolitano has now been sworn in as Secretary of Homeland Security in the Obama administration. Her service to the state of Arizona in effecting actual border security was wretched. The nation will now be at her mercy.

Seeing Red AZ wishes Gov. Jan Brewer a successful tenure. And we thank President Barack Obama for gifting the state of Arizona with a Republican governor — just one day after he took office.

Arizona was tied for worst in the nation in disaster preparedness with Janet Napolitano at the state’s helm. What could more clearly point to Obama’s liberal politics trumping necessary security concerns? This appointment is absurd and dangerous.

As for Jan Brewer taking the reins of state, this is the best news in a long time. I guess we do have to thank Obama for ridding us of JNo

  2. Greg says:

    Bravo, Brewer!!

  3. SherriAZ says:

    Thank the Lord!

  4. Jim says:

Who ever thought we’d be thanking Barack Obama for anything? And so soon?

  5. CrackleGator says:

    Congrats to Jan Brewer!
I don’t want to sound ungrateful for all the policies and raw decisions Napolitano was responsible for, but is there any way we can have our Squaw Peak back ??

  6. Jean D. says:

The Lord is watching over Arizona. If ever there was a year we needed a more conservative legislature and a conservative governor–this is the one! Cutting spending at the rates it is going to have to be cut will not be politically popular. But, that is exactly what is needed. Will the voters remember that these great leaders solved Nappy’s budget fiasco or will they only remember the pain?

With minor tweaks here and there, the right people are in control of the legislature. We all have that to be thankful for. Gov. Brewer–ahhh that sounds great!

  7. Army of One says:

    Indeed it does, Jean!!!

  8. RA says:

Arizona will benefit from Gov. Brewer. She will work hard to undo the damage that Napolitano – Arizona’s most fiscally irresponsible governor ever – wrought for years.

  9. Robert Rowley says:

I’ll call her a temporary bench warmer till next November when I’ll call her unemployed.

  10. Doug Johnson says:

You’re wrong on that one Robert R. Jan Brewer has a very credible resume and is politically savvy. Selling her short is your mistake. She’s held leadership posts in the senate and when she served on the Board of Supervisors. Few could hold a candle to her experience.

I’d bet you a steak, but I don’t think I’d enjoy dining with someone so obviously out of touch.
