President Obama’s intelligence chief has confirmed that some Guantanamo inmates may be released on U.S. soil and receive assistance to return to society.
“If we are to release them in the United States, we need some sort of assistance for them to start a new life,” said National Intelligence Director Dennis Blair at his first press conference.
“You can’t just put them on the street,” he added. “All that is work in progress.”
World News Australia reports the Obama administration is currently evaluating what could be done with the prisoners. But Blair pledged that if they are sent to another country, “we have to be sure that that country will treat them in a humane fashion.”
Sure….kind’a like they treated our American soldiers.
I’ve read that the Obama administration intends to send these …(what do we call them now that Janet Napolitano says we can’t call them “terrorists”)…. for accuracy I’ll use “previously armed and murderous religious fanatics“ into the Alexandria, Virginia jail system, and compromise the safety and security of the entire Washington, DC area.
Those Gitmo “detainees” have never had it so good. They get three squares, a bed, clean clothes and actually have a toilet, shower and soap. That’s more than most of them previously had living as terrorist nomads in the mountains. We even provide them with copies of the Koran and observe their dietary restrictions when serving them meals.
If they think we’re nuts it’s because we are — now that the Democrats are running the show.
Expand Guantanmo–don’t close it. Sure thing Mr. Blair. You’re very likely to turn enemy soldiers into happy suburban referigeration repairmen.
