Linda Valdez and her perpetual mission

In an editorial today titled, Only High Court can bring clarity on sanctions, the Republic’s editorialist-in-charge-of-amnesty opines that only the U.S. Supreme Court possesses the wisdom to deal with Arizona’s Fair and Legal Employment Act.

Linda Valdez is clearly upset that Arizona and the numerous other states which have followed our lead in enacting policies to control the flood of illegal workers by cutting off the hiring carrot, are gaining momentum. At least 150 bills relating specifically to employment have been introduced, and 40 such bills have been enacted in 28 states since 2007, the year Arizona approved its legislation. In the first three months of 2009 alone, over 1,000 immigration-related bills and resolutions were introduced in all 50 states.

It must have escaped her notice that this groundswell is indicative of national fury at the continuing parade of foreign nationals taking jobs Americans are all too happy to have during these difficult economic times.

But, “for the sake of clarity,” Valdez implores the U.S. Supreme Court to hear, and of course rule in favor of, the case brought by Hispanic advocacy groups, the U .S. Chamber of Commerce and their members that enthusiastically exploit low-wage, illegal workers.

The editorial could have been written by Sens. McCain, Kyl, or Kennedy — the trio who crafted the unsound 2007 Comprehensive Immigration Reform that enraged Americans to the point of shutting down Congressional phone and FAX lines with their ire, before it was terminated. Read what Michelle Malkin had to say on the subject.

Although Valdez doesn’t give it credit, the federal E-Verify program has been extremely effective and simple to use. She creates a ruse that says chaos is at play with dozens of verification systems, which is patently untrue.

The editorial is transparent in support of a reintroduction of Comprehensive Immigration Reform.  This time it will have a new name, which played better with focus groups: Temporary Guest Worker Program. Valdez even gives it an adjective:”orderly.”

The law has passed numerous hurdles. It was signed into law July 2, 2007 by Arizona’s Democrat former Gov. Janet Napolitano.  A Federal District Court and even the very liberal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals gave it approval.

Yet Valdez, irrationally concludes, “Things have changed.”

Now she pleads it‘s up to the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn the federal and circuit courts and her own leftist Napolitano — to open the floodgates without restriction.

She will never stop. Looney Linda is giving her last breaths to opening the borders. Did you ever think she might be on McCain’s payroll?

  2. Villanova Says:

The U. S. Supreme Court has no reason to touch this case, regardless of what Linda Valdez and her open borders kindred spirits hope. Their irresponsible view of this country renders them irrelevant.

I’ve spoken to countless job seekers who are willing to take cuts in pay amounting to a 50-75% reduction ( or more ) in their wages just to have a job. The thought that we still need illegal workers is so out of touch with reality.

High school kids can’t get jobs at fast food places like McDonalds in order to pay for college thanks to illegals. Adults who have been cut to part time from low paying full time jobs are scrambling to find a second job just to hang onto their homes.

Meanwhile, BHO wants to include coverage for illegals in his healthcare plan.

Enough is enough. People should be contacting their reps in record numbers to tell them “NO”: to amnesty, to any benefits for illegals, to birthright citizenship- JUST SAY NO!

  4. Bill G. Says:

The will of the American people is overwhelmingly against the illegal invasion. All ballot measures in all states which confront illegal immigration win and by huge majorities. Linda can take here gripes to the countries she seems to care for more than her own.

The Arizona Republic is not called the Repulsive without cause. This editorial is actually humorous, in that Valdez is so desperate to make her case for open borders and amnesty that she is willing to skew the facts (that’s LIE) to do so. The good news is that few people are listening. There are even fewer reading this drivel.
