Hundreds of enthusiastic Hayworth volunteers show up to get campaign instructions

An energetic crowd of J.D. Hayworth supporters chanting “J.D.! J.D.!” is off and running with nominating petitions in hand and an excitement level not previously observed on the Arizona political scene.

The outpouring of support at the volunteer event clearly moved former Congressman Hayworth, now mounting a challenge to Sen. John McCain and his nearly 3-decade Washington career.

Hayworth’s campaign manger David Payne noted that there might be some McCain staffers in attendance.  He welcomed them and pointed out the huge crowd was replicated “throughout the state in Arizona’s 14 other counties, and around the country. Citizens finally have a voice and a representative who will listen and react to their concerns, “ he said .

The effort to replace John McCain has determined foot-soldiers who are ready and willing to demonstrate the power of the grassroots Republicans and Tea Party patriots.

A recent WorldNetDaily poll attests to the fact that McCain is rapidly losing support. The unscientific polling results showed GOP primary challenger J.D. Hayworth with nearly 3,000 votes compared to just 22 for McCain.  The discontent has been brewing. As far back as September, Rasmussen Reports conducted a survey of Arizona Republicans, in which an astonishing 61% indicated McCain was out of touch with the party base.

This morning’s crowd of eager Hayworth volunteers attests to this disconnect Arizonans have with John McCain.  Get onboard this historic campaign to take back the Republican party and give voice to the people of the state of Arizona.

It can be done.

With other commitments today, I was only there in spirit. But COUNT ON IT…I will get involved.

I was at JD’s kick off rally. The electricity was in the air. Of course there was standing room only and we all had the same mantra, NO MORE McCAIN, NO MORE McCAIN. I am not going to say it was one thing that united us, McCain sponsered so many bad biils we could not name them all. But most of us agreed Amnesty was the last straw.

Thanks for the link under “It can be done.” Great reminder!

South Dakota Democrat Sen. Tom Daschle was unceremoniously dumped and replaced by Republican John Thune. We can do the same here by replacing RINO McCain with conservative JD Hayworth. After seeing the large crowd today, I know it’s possible.

I’m fairly new to the political scene and still learning a lot. One thing I have known is that John McCain does not represent me. I was so moved to have been there at headquarters today. I felt as though I actually was a part of something very big. It was quite an experience! Just wanted to say that to anyone reading this. I’m still bouncing off the walls! I have a handful of petitions and a photo ID card, and am set to go out to represent this fine man, who I hope will represent me.

I’ve never worked on a campaign before. My neighbor, who isn’t even a Republican, recruited me and told me to check in with this site from time to time, which I’ve been doing. I appreciate all of the information. Today was wonderful!!!! I feel part of something very powerful. I never thought a few people could make a difference, but a few here and there came together today and made a huge impact. And my neighbor is an Independent voter who is connected to a tea party group. JD Hayworth has broad base appeal. Count me among them!

Here’s a long, but very heart felt email I got from someone who is a major activist in Phoenix – perhaps why McMillions that McCain has won’t buy him happiness (or an election):

I responded and went to the Rally! It was more than I ever anticipated. Never saw such “ENERGY”. People came from Casa Grande, Wickenburg, Mesa and all over. He has tremendous support from just about everywhere! You could feel the energy in that hall…it was electrifying! We have a reason to get involved!

Everyone there was filled with hope and “POSITIVE” attitudes, these are folks who were once ardent supporters of McCain. As usual, I conducted my little interviews and picked everyone’s brains and was just amazed at the responses. Many were independents and a few Democrats getting involved for the first time. 2nd Amendment folks, sportsman, small business people, many seniors, they all came out…just AMAZING!

There were many College students and young families who are getting involved for their first time because, they are deeply worried about this country and the direction it is going. So many new faces getting involved!

They all want “CHANGE”, they want a Senator who is down to earth, relates to the needs of everyday Arizona folks with concerns about senior issues, children’s issues, educational issues for those families trying to find ways to send their children to college, Veteran’s issues, JOBS, national security, our current economy and a host of other issues we all care about. There was standing room only, people backed out the door way, huge crowd!

I am so glad I went and got involved! I will work in his headquarters 1 -2 times a week at 4 hour shifts. The volunteer staff is well organized, very efficient and knowledgeable to all the issues. Very impressive!

I met JD and his lovely wife and had an opportunity too speak with him for several minutes. He is in every sense of the word running a first class campaign with integrity and a positive message. This is not the change we wanted..
“We Want Our Country Back”……. for many this past year has been like a “Bad Dream”….. JD will stand-up for Arizona and all Americans…there is no doubt in my mind.

This campaign will be worth investing my time! JD is “down-to-earth” and will listen to your concerns and do something about! He values our concerns about healthcare costs, the great benefit of using community healthcare centers, the needs of our veterans and returning military from Iraq and Afghanistan.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Rob Haney, Chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Party… he too, is working hard to change the image of our State Republican Party and bring in “New Energy”. I am sure he will
be very successful…he was quite sincere in my conversation with him. It was an exciting morning!

I hope all of you will sign JD’s petition to get him on the primary ballot and volunteer in his campaign…this is the only way to win and beat McCain… McCain is finally being challenged on the issues and JD is the best choice!

It’s long overdue, time for a change…McCain has done nothing in the last 10 years for our state. I think he is too old, lost 2 presidential bids and should retire gracefully. JD will stand firm on his positions and put Arizona first!
