We are saddened to report the passing of a dedicated supporter of the conservative movement, the vivacious and hard-working Sandy Doty. Sandy passed away suddenly from a heart attack, earlier today.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.
Further information regarding funeral arrangements will be made available as we receive them.

I left a note for her husband Quetzal but I have to say that Sandy’s absence is almost impossible for me to contemplate. She is going to be missed by MANY people, obviously including myself, for a very, very long time. I spent a lot of time with her and Quetzal on the border over the years, and always looked forward to talking to her. Great human being — this news absolutely stunned me.
Sandy was a very nice lady, dedicated to those and those causes she believed in, and was truly a patriot for democracy.
Her family has our prayers.
Sandy was a wonderful friend to Marne and me. She showed great compassion to others and was passionate in her high regard for conservative Constitutional doctrine.
She sacrificed herself for her love of God, her family, the Republican Party and her beloved country.
She had an inexhaustible amount of energy and volunteered for many projects and events for the Maricopa County Republican Party and the Arizona State GOP. She led the way at State and County fair booths and at most events where she felt a Republican Party presence was necessary, from gun shows to municipal fairs.
It is not an exaggeration to say that there is no one who can take her place and she did it all with grace.
Sandy was a joy to work beside and we will miss her greatly. Our profound sympathy to her husband, Quet, and all her family.
So sorry to learn of Sandy Doty passing away. She was an enthusiastic conservative and will be missed.
I cannot believe it. Sandy will be missed. She was a tireless worker for the party and the things she believed in. Regardless of what “side” you are on, you have to recognize the incredible contribution this lady made and the positive impression she has left on many many people. I will surely miss her.
Sandy will be terribly missed. She made an impact in
the lives she touched. Her life was an example for
many to follow. May she rest in peace!
I was shocked and saddened to learn of Sandy’s passing today. She will be missed as a friend and, as Rob said above, I can’t think of anyone who could fill her shoes within our Republican Party. She will be sorely missed both for who she was, what she accomplished and what she was planning to accomplish.
Sandy Doty was a stalwart in the Republican Party. It seemed there must have been more than one of her, because it seemed she was at every event.
Those of us who have held elected positions often speak of our appreciation for the “grassroots of the Party”. No one exemplified this more than Sandy Doty. God bless her and her family.
The realization of Sandy’s death will undoubtedly take time to put in perspective. The memories of Sandy on the border, MCDC, Pachyderm, Republican events, other occasions/meetings, fleeting conversations and memories of everyday life that Sandy shared and touched our lives will be visited, revisited, retold and rejoiced over the next few days, weeks and years.
But tonight there is only emptiness for a lost friend.
God Bless you Sandy, I miss you.
Sandy will be missed deeply. She was the hardest worker I’ve ever seen in the GOP, and as Rob said, she did it all with grace. She probably registered more Republicans than all the other PC’s combined!
But more important than her political prowess, Sandy was a wonderful person. She was always smiling, always quick to give a hug, and she was always enjoyable to be around– whether it was in a lively debate or a calm discussion, she was the definition of class and grace. She’ll be sorely missed. God bless you, Sandy.
This is such a shock, it is hard to truly comprehend. Yes, Sandy was indeed a great lady and many examples have been shared. As well as the loss of a great lady, perhaps we can all take a few moments to think about life; how fleeting it really is. None of us ever know how much time we have; none of us know how much time is left to those we love and appreciate. How many of us take the time to express appreciation, love, friendship, affection to those who work so hard; to those whose friendship we treasure; or even to those we love? Sandy will be sorely missed. Let’s learn from her sudden passing. Let’s share our appreciation, love and friendship for each other while there is still time.
I remember Sandy’s wonderful and bright smile my first day down on the border some 4 years ago with MCDC, showing us the ropes during registration. Her enthusiasm for all things America First and for the love of her country was contagious. Later on when I got involved in the local political climate, there she was, again, showing her leadership and enthusiasm for all things conservative. And wherever she went, was her big smile and how she lit up the room wherever she went.
Her accomplishments in the four short years I knew her were numerous, however that was only a tip of the ice berg of what Sandy has done not only for conservatism in this state, but her love for God and this country. Saying that she will be missed doesn’t even describe it.
Requiscat in Pace, dear, dear Sandy.
I always thought of Sandy as the “Eveready Energizer Bunny” of conservative activism. This is sad news indeed.
Sandy Doty was a class act. The MCRC and the AZGOP will not be the same in her absence. May she fly to heaven on the wings of angels.
For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to free
the breath from it’s restless tides, that it may
rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance. (by Kahlil Gibran)
Sandy, you touched my life and I will miss you.
Arizona GOP has lost a legendary patriot! May she rest in peace and may her family find comfort and peace during their time of grief.
Sandy was a rock, not only for the Republican Party and the Minutemen, but for her family and friends outside of politics.
I will miss her smiling face and her enthusiastic “can do” attitude.
Sincere condolences to Quetzal and Family.
Sandy will always be remembered fondly by those who knew her. She was “one of a kind”!
Having just lost my Mom, my heart goes out to her family and friends. But take heart, she’s watching over all of us now and we have a job to finish for her!
As so many have voiced before me, Sandy was a tireless, giving, loyal and positive friend and colleague over many years. Her absence leaves a big hole in my heart. May God enjoy her as much as we have. Fly home with the knowledge that we will be strengthened by the fond memory of you on our shoulders as we continue your mission!
I am overwhelmed. It would hard to come up with the name of a person I know who would be more missed than Sandy. When I get to heaven, I hope that Sandy will be one of the first people I get to see.
No words can express how we feel with the passing of Sandy. She was a woman we always looked up to,and wondered where she got all that energy.Bless you for all that you have done for us and the party.Your work on earth is completed.May the angels lead you to paradise,to find eternal rest. You will always be in our hearts.
Sandy was a true Patiot. She lead by example, accomplished much and will be sorely missed.
Sandy was a wonderful person and a dedicated, tireless worker. She is greatly missed. Sandy will live on through her accomplishments, our memories of her, and our actions that our memory of Sandy inspires.
Sandy was standing on the sidewalk last week collecting signatures and talking about the Constitution.
an amazing woman
Words cannot express what a loss this is for so many. Her legacy will live on, though, which we should all hope can be said about us when we leave this earth. Hers was a life well lived. May she rest in peace.
As an Emergency Room employee, I must let all of my fellow Conservatives know that this could happen to any of us, at any time. So if you’re not taking care of yourself, START Now! Sandy now helps our Conservatism in Spirit. God Bless her & her family.
I will truly miss Sandy. She was a great lady and friend. Shari Farrington is right. Let this serve as a reminder to us to appreciate and thank those around us every day because we never know when our time on this earth is over. My prayers are with Quetzal and Sandy’s family.
State Representative Debbie Lesko
I didn’t know Sandy well, but what I did know, I liked.
May God bring his grace upon her family and hold them closely during this time of great loss.
Sandy will be forever remembered by thousands and thousands of conservatives across the state. Her efforts with the Minutemen at the border, in her Sun Lakes Republican Club, in the MCRC and in numerous other venues that many were not aware of will leave a large gap in the hedge.
The best thing we can accomplish in her memory is to redouble our efforts this year so that we elect God fearing constitutionalists for US Senator, Congress, Governor, Attorney General, Treasurer, and legislative offices across the state.
Sandy, enjoy your reward that you have so ably earned. We look forward to seeing you again on the other side of the river.
Janell-That was beautifully put.
Our beloved Sandy is now organizing the angels in heaven.

Sandy to me was what all of us should strive to be. She gave it her all and was an inspiration and a mentor. God Bless Sandy!
God Bless you, Sandy. You touched many lives, mine was one of them.
Sandy was a tireless conservative Republican Party worker. An individual who gave her time and energy to conservative causes. I want to thank her family for letting us be a part of her life.
