We noticed it last week when the Phoenix New Times ran a shocking piece titled Jew Roundup. The far-left publication was engaging in its habitual assault on state Sen. Russell Pearce and other Republicans, and used this outrageous and despicable leap to make what they thought was a point.
It fell flat. Conservatives and what the Left would derogatorily characterize as the “Religious Right“saw no humor in the blatant anti-Semitic characterizations and overtly Naziesque depictions.
But their indignation is, unfortunately, a one-way street.
The local chapter of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) was uncharacteristically silent. And the Jewish News of Greater Phoenix (JNGP) ran this limp editorial in which they shockingly called Michael Lacey’s vicious piece, “clearly satirical” and warmly referred to Lacey and his tabloid as “known for being provocative, often to great effect.”
The editorial essentially complimented the publication for being “dogged in its pursuit of important stories that make other papers nervous,” including what the JNGP termed “the malfeasance of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.”
They oddly opined: “So we’re pretty sure that when Lacey penned “Jew Roundup…he didn’t have Jew-bashing on his mind. We’re willing to bet that he was trying to satirize the plight of Mexican immigrants in Arizona by substituting “Jew” for “Mexican.”
Satirize? Would they have been so magnanimous if the same words emanated from a conservative publication rather than a leftist propaganda organ? We doubt it.
When calls were made to the newspaper and ADL they had little to say. It’s a sad commentary that such vicious spew from the Left appears to be worthy of excuses.
In January, NewsBusters exposed the double standard when Rush Limbaugh agreed with the Anti-Defamation League on the bigotry emanating from the Left, wondering if Jewish voters were having “buyer’s remorse.” As a group they voted overwhelmingly for Obama — giving him 78 percent of their vote.
But ADL’s Abe Foxman came out swinging — at Limbaugh.
Orthodox Jewish columnist, Ben Shapiro correctly assesses the issue on Breitbart’s Big Journalism, noting that Jews don’t have many friends outside the conservative movement in the United States and they are partnering with the wrong team. Watch Shapiro’s instructive video.
Liberals always give other liberals a pass. The post is correct in stating that a conservative publication would never have been treated with such generosity when making such vicious statements. For the Jewish newspaper to call this “satire” is as obscene as the New Times article itself. The only thing they could be thinking is “do we hate the article less than we love other liberals?” The answer had to have been “yes!”
I went to the linked ADL website and you’re right. Stony silence on this obscene article. But look at what I did find:

Why is this issue more of a concern to this particular group than something as base as the anti-Semitic article? I’m appalled, but equally as much at ADL as the New Times.
As a Christian, I stand with Israel. But crap like this makes me wonder. Maybe we should jump on Nobama’s bandwagon and encourage a Palestinian state.
The ADL is placing the supposed “civil rights” of illegals ahead of the rights of Americans to a sovereign nation protected from invasion by unchecked hordes of illegals stemming from Mexico and Central America. If Americans get stopped and asked for their ID simply because they may be mistaken for an illegal, then that is a small price to pay to keep us safe from drug cartel violence like kidnappings and killings.
Mexicans are leaving border towns and walking over the border claiming they want asylum thanks to their own inept government’s handling of the war with the cartels. Who is stopping them from coming into Texas and demanding sanctuary and services- like enrolling their hundreds of kids in OUR schools? You guessed it- NOBODY. Arizona is standing up to the invasion and saying enough.
I couldn’t care less how many signatures are presented by amnesty prone protestors. I only care about the American body count courtesy of illegals. Perhaps the ADL ought to look into that. I have long wondered at the liberal bent of most Jewish Americans when conservative Christians such as myself have been the staunchest defenders of Israel. While BHO is selling Israel down the river, they continue to do his bidding by doing the same to this country through the support of illegals at the expense of American citizens like Bob Krentz. SHAME.
I am getting very upset with our Jewish friends. They are trying not to offend anybody to keep their support. My Lord people, do you not understand your Country has been sold to the Palestanians and Iran for a new Foreign Policy that is failing. Take a stand make ourself revelant again.
