Democracy Corps is the liberal political strategy/polling firm run by James Carville and Stan Greenberg. It must have pained them to report the results of their most recent polling survey showing Republicans leading on the generic ballot among likely voters, 48 percent to 42 percent.
But even worse for them, is the answer to their own Greenberg Quinlan Rosner research survey question # 48, which asks respondents to select from a list of words or phrases that best described Barack Obama. The word “Socialist” was selected by 55 percent of respondents.
Referring to the “grim stability,” this is how they advise their client base to view these plummeting numbers: “…we thought it would be helpful for progressive leaders to stare at the results – particularly the stability over the last three months. It should move them to battle more intensely race-by-race – and push the national leaders to a different frame for this election. With the recovery barely visible and Democrats still behind on the economy, progressives should not seek a mandate based on their performance, but on their advocacy for ordinary people versus Wall Street and on where they want to take the country, compared to the Republicans. Democratic candidates should run as outsiders and independents that battle to change Washington. They should show their passion for jobs, the economy and middle class.”
In other words, the Democrats are running scared. With Obama leading their party, they have every right to be. The midterm elections will likely reflect the negativity reflected in this poll.
Approval Ratings: Congress 12%, Obama 42%. Congress has held fairly steadily at 12% while Obama’s rating drops.

The democrats are in a world ‘o hurt. And when lefties like Carvelle and Greenberg have to admit it, it shows the Obama effect in full bloom.

It is not surprising Democrats have 42%. That is about the same percentage of Americans that pay no taxes with many dependent on government handouts. Socialists typically try to increase the number on handouts to ensure votes in elections; socialist governments eventually collapse after they run out of other people’s money. Such a trend could really pick up steam if Obama gives amnesty to 12 million illegal immigrants, and adopts Welfare Island Puerto Rico as a State. Perhaps the poll should have included the word Communist to see what percentage would select that reflecting Obama. Apparently Obama has shared a close working relationship with the REDS.
I would feel more at ease if the Republicans would find better candidates e.g. Sharon Engle, Nevada vs. Harry Reid. Unless that woman gets a complete make over she will never defeat Harry.
