Dem links to boycotts coming home to roost

The Republic editorialists are hard at work trying to immunize Democrat candidates from their ties to a statewide boycott as part of their SB 1070 protest.

There is little they can do to remove the taint from U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva (CD 7), who was front and center last April in calling for imposition of a “boycott of Arizona goods, services and tourism.” Here is Grijalva on a broadcast with the left-wing Democracy Now! announcing his plans for a targeted economic boycott of Arizona.

The daily’s editorialist actually opines:

It has been clear from the start of the boycott that the goals of its supporters like the labor unions extend well beyond forcing Arizona’s Legislature to end SB 1070. A successful boycott that economically squeezes and stigmatizes this state would add pressure on a Democratic Congress and White House to pass comprehensive immigration reform [read: “amnesty].

In exchange for a few thousand Arizona jobs, in other words, the upside of the boycott in the minds of its organizers was that it could be leveraged into a cherished national reform. What could go wrong?”

Now, they see the answer is “plenty.”

The editorial, wringing its inky hands over the collateral damage to their liberal candidates, as well as the illegal aliens whose jobs they sought to protect, now concludes by calling the boycott the newspaper previously favored, “reckless.”

Discomfort is evident as Republican Gov. Jan Brewer runs ads linking her Democrat opponent Terry Goddard to the unions which have contributed to his campaign. Democrat Felecia Rotellini campaigning for attorney general, is similarly under fire from her GOP opponent, Tom Horne who has called upon her to return the $4,176 she accepted from the United Food and Commercial Workers Union — acknowledged boycott supporters.

The Dems need to pick their poison. They can’t have it both ways.

    I favor a girlcott.

Now if we could just get Hussein Obama to come campaign for Arizona Democrats. That would assure a clean sweep for the AZ GOP in November.

Democrats would be comedic if this was not so serious an issue. And from the Republic’s own editorial they say the boycotters they gave full support to were willing to sacrifice “a few thousand Arizona jobs” to make their point. The left is so hypocritical! Of course they figure all of the jobless could get on the dole where others would pay their way. No wonder the left is losing.

The Democrats are getting their just desserts. Bravo!!

The shame is that a leftist America-hater such as Raul Grijalva cannot be removed from office because the Department of Justice uses ethnic diversity as a determiner for passing muster when congressional districts are drawn.

Diversity of ideas never makes the drawing board. This perverse concept is insulting to Americans who vote based on Constitutional principles rather than skin color.
