Test question:
What do Mexico, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Paraguay and Peru all have in common?
This report in the Connecticut Post answers the question, noting the 11 nations say “they have an interest in ensuring they have reliable relations with the United States that aren’t frustrated by Arizona‘s law” which addresses unlawful entry into our state.
Get that? These countries don’t like our popular law which ensures we have a secure border.
Preposterously, these foreign nations are asking the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to allow them to interfere with our state law — by requesting permission to file friend-of-the-court briefs in Gov. Jan Brewer’s appeal of a ruling putting parts of SB 1070, Arizona’s new immigration law, on hold.
Last April, Seeing Red AZ addressed Mexican hypocrisy and their own abuses of illegals that are enshrined in their Constitution. Click on this link and refresh your memory.
So all of these Latin American countries think they should have a voice in our lawmaking? I say we should turn the tables on them and approach their courts with a similar proposal. Fat chance! What arrogance!!
I noticed SB 1070 is correctly referred to here as “our popular law.” That is definitely true, since states all over the country are copying it.
The AZ Republic never refers to the law unless the words “contoversial” or “tough” preceed the words “new law” or “SB 1070.” What a joke, No wonder the newspaper is a dying relic.
This is a legal outrage that must be admired by former Justice Sandra O’Connor and her black-robed buddy Ruth Bader Ginsburg who are grand proponents of emulating European legal decisions with an eye to global domination of our courts.
Is this a joke?
This is the excellent press release where Gov. Jan Brewer objects to foreign government engagement in SB 1070 lawsuit. She calls the actions of these foreign nations coming out against Arizona “incredibly offensive.” Can’t top that for accuracy:
