Real Clear Politics provides the video from last night’s Congressional Correspondents’ Dinner.
The attendees supply the polite tittering as AZ CD 3 Rep. Ben Quayle attempts to tickle the funny bones of Anthony Weiner, Eliot Spitzer, Newt Gingrich, Tim Pawlenty, Dick Cheney, Joe Biden, Barack Obama and other high power politicians.
Benny bombed. I didn’t support him in his race, but my advice to him now is “Keep your day job.”
Can Quayle spell E-M-B-A-R-R-A-S-S-M-E-N-T? (Hint:There’s no “E” on the end.)
After watching his performance, I’d say he’d best not accept another invitation for a while. He’s inexperienced and just needs to acknowledge the fact that he has a sharp learning curve ahead of him. In the meantime, let those who can, do.
Rep. Quayle,
Take a back seat until you’re ready for prime time. It’s not now.
A boy in a man’s suit. What concerns me is he is in a man’s job during a very critical time in our history.
Could be a genetic predisposition.
What an embarrassment. Can he at least ACT like an adult now that he’s a Congressman?
