Wes Gullett sweats
Jennifer Wright is a lawyer, economist, wife and mother and the tea party backed candidate in the Phoenix mayoral race. In today’s political climate, having such support matters. In fact, it matters enough that her entry into the race has lobbyist and former McCain strategist, Wes Gullett in such a lather that he has forgotten to put on his strategic thinking cap. So upset at the prospect of the entry of a new face in the sea of political retreads, he foolishly sent out an email to a group of his cohorts asking them to talk to Jennifer Wright about her “realistic chances of winning” — which according to Gullett are nil. Still, he contends she will cost him votes.
In the political arena in which Wes Gullett has spent his career, that is of course, the point. Candidates are in races expecting and desiring to cost their opponents votes. Political operative Gullett has surely suffered a strategy lapse. One of the basic rules of sparring is “Never let them see you sweat.” Gullett is dripping.
Gullett’s email alone should be enough to energize Jennifer Wright and her conservative supporters. If she was as inexperienced as Gullett contends, he needn’t worry. She is not. He should.
I had the pleasure of hearing Jennifer Wright speak at a PC meeting. She won my vote hands down against Neeley and Gullett. They are two very typical career politicians.

Neely is my councilwoman and she has been nothing but a failure as a councilwoman. The one thing I
remember of her is how she fed her face while at the council meetings, and the lack of responses to my concerns when I e-mailed or called her office.
I will also never forget her give away of our taxes to support a labor hall for illegal aliens in N.E. Phoenix, and the 97 million out of our taxes she voted to give the failed ‘city north’.
Voters must throw the bums out. They took enough out of us. We need new blood. My vote and that
of many disgusted Phoenicians for Jennifer Wright. I shall donate to her campaign and will volunteer
to help her campaign. GO JEN!
Actually there are other issues that will cost McCain crony Gullett big time with conservative voters, such as his name on the infamous endorsement list of Republicans for Janet (Napolitano), Arizona’s most liberal governor. He signed that list as an elected precinct committeeman — party activists who run for the party office with the commitment of supporting Republican candidates!
Nor is he helped by the fact that his wife Deb worked as chief of staff to the most radically left Phoenix mayor Phil Gordon, who has turned our city into a “Sanctuary City” for illegal aliens. Will Gullett emulate Gordon? Has he spoken out against his policies?
This dubious duo (Wes and Deb) both worked for McCain, and obviously learned their backstabbing of conservatives tactics from their mentor. Don’t be conned.

Is that the same list Joe Arpaio signed for Janet? Oh, wait…Sheriff Joe never endorsed her, he just posed in an advertisement for her.
You’re pathetic, amatt. If this is your means of providing cover to your duplicitous hero Jeff the Flake, by marginalizing Sheriff Arpaio, it shows that even you’re disappointed with his preposterous waffling on important issues such as imposition of a carbon tax, gays in the military and lying about support of term limits — until it was HIS term about to be limited. Now, in time for his campaign he’s perfected another switcheroo — that of his longstanding support of amnesty, and the STRIVE and DREAM Acts, all of which reward those breaking into our country. He’s such a supporter of Communist Cuba, he ought to run for El Presidente there — although they are now imposing the very term limits he so disdains. Flake certainly lives up to his name.

I thought we were talking about Wes Gullet’s support of Janet Napolitano, the same gubernatorial candidate Sheriff Joe supported in the 2002 election. Out of the blue you brought up Jeff Flake. I don’t think he backed Napolitano ever in his career. He apparently supported some other measures in his political career that you dislike, but he’s never supported Janet.
I can see you bringing up Jeff Flake in conversation if we were talking about anything even remotely relevant to Jeff Flake. Ah well, I guess I just expected more.
amatt: Sorry you “expected more” from me than the truth. My response to you was based upon your slavish adoration of Jeff the Flake and the fact that your comment was clearly an attempt to make other Republicans look as smarmy as your hero. It doesn’t work. Flake alone stands out as a colossal liar. Chances are he didn’t back Napolitano, but he routinely teams up with the most liberal member of congress, Luis Gutierrez on costly legislation that puts his endless chatter about “earmarks” in perspective. Mandating that citizens fund illegals and give their American-born children a free college education is not the mark of a fiscal conservative. Please do not reply to me. I’m leaving for Cuba in the morning to inquire about Flake’s political future there.

I discovered one flaw in her interview. If she wants to “competitively bid out non-essential services. Those would include:Landscaping and janitorial -which are presently being done by illegal aliens because the janitorial services are done by non city employees. Now I have to speak to her to find out what she plans to do if she bids out to corrupt employers who hire illegal aliens to do the work so they can bid out lower! If she is not aware that by hiring illegal aliens (cheap labor) “We the citizens” must subsidize by providing them with food cards, and free medical and subsidized housing among other things! I will reconsider voting for her or encouraging others to give her their vote until I have personally interviewed her and get the answer to my questions. Too many landscaping companies are already on contract even with the Federal Government (US POST OFFICE) to do the Post offices landscaping and janitorial. I have witnessed it and reported it without any action taken by the agencies hiring contractors who in turn hire illegal aliens to get the lowest bid.
I hope others ask the same question.
The arrogance of Wes Gullett is appalling! How did he deicide that only Jennifer Wright should exit the campaign to ensure he would be a player. What about the others, the open-border thugs he’s running against? How did he happen to finger her? No kidding Gullett is sweating! He thought he could plaster the City of Phoenix with his McCain replica signs and sail into the mayor’s office with an assist from McCain and his own left-leaning wife who worked directly for and with loony tune Phil Gordon as his Chief-Of-Staff. (She origninally worked for McCain as did Wes!) This s**t runs so deep it could restart the plague. Suddenly a young, bright and articulate conservative appears on the scene and Gullett goes apoplectic. He must think all of the other candidates are losers. Well, there we do agree. But I count him among them.
This election, unlike most, could shake out to be a real treat. A pretty and sharp young conservative woman, highly credentialed and not part of the same tired old sack of rocks looking to further themselves at the expense of the citizens of Phoenix. It hasn‘t been different in decades. This is great! Thanks, Jennifer Wright.You’ve gotten me enthused.
This is a guarantee: If elected, Wes Gullett will stick in our craw.
Suggestion: Wright should change the slogan “principled leadership” to “conservative leadership.” THAT will separate her from the pack in a hot minute.
You gotta be kidding. No campaign funds – you think people are just going to vote for her out of the blue? Unless the GI people (bullocks) are going to fund raise like crazy, she won’t have enough money to do squat. She’ll be lucky to pull off the signatures to get on the ballot.
