Readers of this site know full well we are not McFans. For decades, John McCain has been a consistent aisle crosser, partnering with the most liberal of Democrats. He has built a career on being a “maverick,” reveling in his leftist leanings while running as a Republican.
But today we report that he has been vindicated for his comments regarding the cause of countless and massive wildfires plaguing Arizona’s southern border. He was unjustly targeted by open-border Hispanic activists and maligned as an irresponsible racist for attributing many of the raging fires that devastated hundreds of thousands of acres and property to illegal aliens crossing into Arizona.
Arizona sheriffs, U.S. Forest Service officials, and federal and local investigators have long detailed credible evidence supporting myriad devastation caused by illegals.
After the Wallow Fire, Associate Deputy Chief Jim Pena of the U.S. Forest Service acknowledged as much in testimony before a U.S. House Government Committee. ”We have been asked specifically if the fires are related to cross border activities. What I can tell you is that from 2002-2011 457 fires have been determined to be human caused in the SW border area of the Coronado National Forest.”
“To date [July] in Fiscal Year 2011 approximately 7,000 undocumented aliens have been apprehended and 76,000 pounds of marijuana have been seized on or around the CoronadoNational Forest. Wildfires occur near the U.S./Mexico border where there is heavy cross border traffic.” Read the transcript here.
Yet Randy Parraz, the professional agitator who is behind the baseless recall of Arizona Senate President Russell Pearce, called McCain’s comments “careless and reckless,” saying “it’s easier to fan the flames of intolerance, especially in Arizona.” McCain “should know better than to make unsupported claims about the state’s most vulnerable populations.”
Amazingly, the left-leaning daily newspaper takes a rare cogent view in today’s editorial saying “In fact, McCain told the truth.” It appears in the same edition with coverage of Arizona LaRaza cronies seeking an apology from McCain.
The editorial begins with these words: In a way, it is helpful that Democratic state Sen. Steve Gallardo and other Hispanic leaders have raised, once again, the entirely mythical belief that Arizona Sen. John McCain had no factual evidence for raising concerns about illegal immigrants causing wildfires near the Mexican border. It is helpful to set the record straight. The senator was justified in observing that fact because, simply, it is a fact.
Read it.
You had me scratching my head for a hot minute, wondering what McCain had done right. I’ve never been able to stand the double crosser. But, you’re right and in this rare occurrence, so is the AZ Repugnant newspaper. Illegals are culpable in may of these fires. They use them to signal one another, warm themselves in the winter and also set them in callus disregard of American property. They want to come here, and feast off of our plate, but they hate us and disrespect our country.
Randy Parrass can kiss mine! And the description of him as a ‘professional agitator’ is right on the mark.
I still wish McCain a retirement. I can’t call it speedy after he’s sucked us dry after 3 decades at the trough. Too bad he didn’t get it gifted to him during the 2010 election when I could have rejoiced in his defeat by a real conservative. He deserved what his Demo buddy Russ Feingold got — a punch in his get out of the senate ticket.
Has anyone seen this from Politico? McCain pushed to arm Gadhafi
http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2011/08/26/20110826mccain-leaked-cable-gadhafi-military-politico.html
A leaked U.S. diplomatic cable shows that Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain promised to help Libyan dictator Muammar Gadhafi obtain U.S. military hardware in 2009.
The cable, released by the open information group WikiLeaks, reveals the pledge came at meeting that was attended by other prominent members of Congress, including Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.).
Anyone surprised? The Deception King is never far from his leftist path.
Ssssooo…why would a U.S. Senator, (nevermind that he’s OUR senator…) offer Arms assistance to a man we suspected of involvement with the MURDER of 200+ AMERICAN CITIZENS…a.k.a. THE PAN-AM FLIGHT 103 INCIDENT?????????
It’s John McCain, Doc. If I may be blunt, the guy has always had his head up his ass. Remember when he didn’t know the difference between Iran and Iraq? BTW, as a strong conservative, I disagree with the tagline at the end of this video clip.
“…..the state’s most vulnerable populations.”? Randy, somehow you’ve managed to overlook a major recession that has added many citizens to what was our own vulnerable Arizona population. When it comes to charity, especially using our tax dollars, we should not have to apologize for wanting to care for the home-front folks first.
Border crashers, we respect you best at home, in line with your fellow countrymen. Line jumpers are never appreciated anywhere; that’s something you learn in kindergarten at the drinking fountain.
McCain can get something right on a rare occasion, but mainly his out of control ambition is the reason we have such a massive illegal problem. He has pandered to the most radical elements of the Latino groups and made outrageous promises to them in exchange for their vote which went instead to Obama. I’m a fourth generation Arizonan and have been exposed to a lot of history in my family. With only one exception, an uncle who was in the Navy, they all detest John Mccain. No amount of soft soaping makes him palatable.
PS Forgot to mention that the Mccain supporting uncle (by marriage) is a drunk.
Glenn Spencer of American Patrol has been investigating the Monument Fire since day one. His photographic evidence shows that illegal aliens didn’t start the fire. Mexicans in Mexico did. The fire was started in Mexico and crossed the border at Wash 62. More then likely the fire was started to either cover smuggling in that area or to cause a distraction so smuggling could occur in an adjacent area. You can see his evidence at;

“Spencer said the confusion arises when someone claims the fires was started by an “illegal alien” — forgetting that someone in Mexico, no matter how close to the border the person might be, is not an “illegal alien.”
