State GOP Chair endorses Pearce

On Saturday, January 28, Arizona State Republican Committeemen will elect their officers for the next two years. Those offices are First Vice-Chair, Second Vice-Chair, Third Vice-Chair, Assistant Secretary, Assistant Treasurer, Sergeant-At-Arms and Assistant Sergeant-At-Arms.

The Honorable Russell Pearce, author of the nationally emulated SB 1070, is running for First Vice Chair. Pearce has the strong endorsement of State Party Chairman, Tom Morrissey.

The position of First Vice Chair is vital to the party structure because that person is key to the successful administration of the chairman, facilitating a smooth, coordinated team effort. Pearce’s favorable contacts, earned over years, will enhance the chairman’s efforts in this vital election year.

Pearce and Morrissey have worked closely together in advocating the conservative agenda along with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Pearce’s challenger lacks comparable credentials on the national, as well as the local scene.

The choice is clear.

  1. Ajo Joe says:

Great move on the part of AZ GOP leader Tom Morrissey! Thanks for stepping forward in this important election. Your leadership speaks volumes.

  2. LD 7 PC says:

My vote was going to Russell Pearce in any event. This is icing on the cake!

  3. Pima Pal says:

Sen. Russell Pearce is absolutely deserving of this high level support. Glad to see it!! It will be a pleasure to drive up from the People’s Republic of Pima to cast a vote for Pearce!!

  4. Fed Up says:

I heard Pearce’s opponent is telling people to vote for her because she’s “brown.” I wouldn’t care if she was purple with pink polka dots.
What a reason to urge support for her candidacy.

    • Another LD 20 PC says:

Diane also tried along with Lisa Gray and Jeanette Dubreil to have Tom Morrissey recalled by lying about fundraising. Diane needs to be defeated and defeated soundly let her know we will not put up with her brand of so-called Conservationism.

  5. LD30 State Committeeman says:

A dependable conservative choice is also offered for 2nd and 3rd Vice-Chair. For 2nd VC Platform Republicans would do well to cast a vote for Parralee Schneider over Viramontes.

The 3rd Vice-Chair race offers an extraordinarily sharp contrast. John Rhodes comes out early and often for his good personal friend, John McCain. Rhodes serves as Graham County Campaign Co-Chairman for McCain protege Jeff Flake.

Rhodes’ opponent for 3rd VC is dependable conservative Chad Palmer. Chad hails from Prescott. His flyer endorses Republican Platform positions defending human life, demanding conservative fiscal policy and defending America’s borders. It points out Rhodes endorsed the 2010 sales tax increase while Palmer opposed it. I’m voting Palmer for 3rd Vice-Chair.

    • Sgt. Flapjaw says:

I too will vote for Russell Pearce. He would get my vote for any office that he runs for. I am also familiar with Chad Palmer and see him as the easy choice.

  6. LD4 PC says:

Sen. Ron Gould just endorsed Chad Palmer for AZ GOP 3rd Vice-Chair! Good call Sen.!

    • Nordinw Crub says:

Are all three of the VP candidates white males? I’m just wondering, are the Republican women just supposed to make the coffee and bake the cookies?

      • Realist says:

Nordinw Crub: Do you mean like Hillary Clinton?

      • Parralee Schneider says:

        Nordinw Crub et all,
Parralee Schneider is female – Married 40+ years to a retired Army brigider general, mother of two sons, has 6 grandchildren and is a consummate Republican volunteer who has helped raise 1.4 mil for Pima GOP, founded Eastside Republicans, served on numerous statewide, city, town & congressional campaigns, looks forward to kicking the Democrats out of the presidency plus keeping our Arizona house & Senate in the super majority category AND bakes cookies.

  7. Chad Palmer says:

I would like to publicly thank Senator Gould for his endorsement and for Prop 102 to Protect Marriage. Godspeed the Right. Thanks LD30, Sgt. Flapjaw and LD4 for the shout out. Hoo-rah

Way to throw Diane Ortiz-Parsons under the bus!

    • Army Of One says:

No one is “throwing her under the bus.” She is in the wrong place, singing the wrong tune, at the wrong time.

      • Another LD 20 PC says:

Diane has already thrown the leadership of the Republican Party under the bus by trying to have Tom Morrissey recalled. Diane needs to go along with all the back stabbers. She is not very trust worthy.

  9. Sgt. Flapjaw says:

Is Diane from LD18?….The Recall District.

  10. Daniel Grimm says:

    Greetings to all.

My name is Dan Grimm and I am a member-at-large on the Maricopa County EGC. I have had the privilege of working with Diane Ortiz-Parson for the past 3 years. We have worked together on County Mandatory/Statutory meetings, Lincoln Day luncheons, fundraisers, etc.

The many slanderous statements which have been made about Diane are absolutely FALSE. Diane has worked tirelessly to support the Maricopa County and State GOP, offering her assistance time and again to its leaders.

Diane has NEVER asked anyone to vote for her because of her heritage, nor her gender. She has asked that you look at her record of accomplishment. Diane had absolutely NOTHING to do with the efforts to call for a vote of No Confidence for Chairman Morrissey. These accusations are false and based on nothing more than hearsay.

While everyone should absolutely support which ever candidate they choose, the ongoing character assassination must stop.

We in the GOP should be grateful to have TWO such capable people running for party office, not bludgeon the one opposing whomever we support.

I endorsed Diane at the beginning of this race because I know the caliber of individual she is and what she will accomplish, if chosen.

I will not back out of my endorsement just because someone new, whom I also respect has entered the race. Diane has my vote.

The Arizona GOP is big enough to make use of ALL of our talented members. While only one may win the office, the other candidates running should be thanked for their willingness to step forward, and welcomed with open arms to contribute all they are willing to do.

    • LD18 PC says:

Grimm news from you, Dan. I supported you at the county meeting. Had I known of this endorsement, my ballot would have been marked differently. Russell Pearce is not “someone new” who has entered the race. He has stood for and with conservatives every inch of the way and dedicated his entire career to serving the public. The man is an American Patriot.

  11. Keen Observer says:

‘Never’ is a strong word choice, Mr Grimm. Maybe you were not present when Ms. Ortiz-Parsons first ran for a county office on the McCain slate with Jerry Brooks just a few years ago.

I was frankly shocked when Ms. Ortiz-Parsons, in her speech at the MCRC Convention, touted her Hispanic heritage as a reason to vote for her. I thought she would never win after she threw down that race card, but she was the smart one.

She won by playing the race card (and I heard her throw the ‘Brown woman line’ at the LD 6 meeting on Monday). I was so wrong in thinking it was a dumb move. But I sure remembered it. If you were there, Dan, you must have a poor memory. Better double-up on your Ginkgo Biloba tablets.

  12. Doc says:

I wasn’t there. But I can tell ya’ this; If Mrs. Ortiz-Parsons brought up her ethnicity during an election campaign & state committeemen fell for it, shame on ‘em! RACE has absolutely nothing what-so-ever to do with a person’s ability to do a job, in my opinion.

AND..Shame on HER for even bringing it up in th’ FIRST PLACE! This kind of thing shows a HUGE LACK of Character…& gives th’ socio-dems all sorts of goodies for ‘em to use against us…
