Jan Brewer channels Obama’s socialized medicine

Gov’s bunk-laden email doesn’t cut it

Impossible to miss, glaring similarities, as both Obama and Jan Brewer use medical doctors* as props for the unconscionable expansion of socialized medicine.

Jan_and_ObamaCare_Docs_

As she works feverishly on behalf of ObamaCare’s Medicaid expansion, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer is encountering strong resistance from Republican legislators. Juxtaposed against the fact that various GOP districts have passed resolutions opposing the expansion, is the reality of the pro-expansion zealots waving the carrots of campaign a$$istance for playing well. What the daily refers to as a “well-heeled, tightly organized pro-expansion campaign led by the health-care industry and Arizona business leaders, in cooperation with the governor’s office and some of the state’s top lobbyists and political strategists,“ is making life difficult for the lawmakers down on West Washington Street. The pressure is intensifying as the high dollar campaign rolls out its own lobbyist, Jaime Molera, and a heavy handed promotion worthy of street thugs with wads of cash.  Keep your eyes on the GOP freshmen, the governor’s office hopes to sway.

For a Republican governor who stood in firm opposition to this costly scheme to do an about-face and expect Republicans to join in the kumbaya with the onboard Democrats, is a bridge too far.

This letter, emailed to Republican Precinct Committeemen by Gov. Jan Brewer, exemplifies the depth of her desperation.

* We have since found out that Brewer’s white-coated props were not doctors at all.  They are students at Glendale’s Osteopathic Midwestern University.

These photos speak volumes. The once conservative state Representative and Senator Jan Brewer has, as governor, been taken over by the body snatchers. This is appalling. Where is the woman who wagged her finger in Obama’s face? What a disappointment!

    • Janelle says:

The glaring difference is Obama used real doctors as his props, the Brewster used “medical professionals” disguised as medical and dental students for her props. 80 to 90 percent of the real doctors oppose Obamacare (packaged as Medicaid Expansion).

  2. Westnash says:

Will be happy when she is gone.

  3. Maggie says:

Thoroughly disgusting. I’ve always supported Jan Brewer. No more.

  4. 1776 says:

By seemingly putting us between a bad idea and a worse one, Fed’s are trying to force us to implement another very bad idea. Unfortunately Governor brewer is being taken along for the ride by listening to the same bad advise McCain and his advisers use to shut down conservative folks and their ideas.

It is refreshing to know that Scott Walker, the Wisconsin Governor, seems to have actually done some deep thinking about and assimilation of conservative philosophy and he’s thinking outside the box. With apologies to our Governor, I don’t think she’s made of the same stuff. For background google “wsj medicaid expansion wisconsin” to see what he’s up to.

I listened to Chuck and John explain the Governor’s position last night and, while it was totally logical as far as it went, I believe they are cherry picking their facts and trying to take the easy way out of the box. After all, it isn’t their money they will be spending, it’s ours.

One point Chuck made was that the Feds are dumping this on the states to fight rather than taking it on themselves. He didn’t explain just how having Arizona capitulate to Obama Care would not be yanking the rug out from under our DC Delegation rather than helping them fight to overturn what is a major step in the destruction of the America we used to know.

The lynchpin of his argument is that the remaining sixty thousand folks now receiving expensive hospital treatment for serious problems will be abandoned without recourse when the funds run out for the current program. The program in question stopped taking new “clients” some time ago and attrition has reduced it very significantly. I didn’t note the numbers but it’s something like well over 200k down to 60k.

Where have the folks gone who couldn’t join that program? Obviously they’re somewhere else in the system. Here was a perfect way to sun-set a welfare program and it was working. surely we can find the money somewhere else to finish out the sun-set without abandoning the current recipients and even more importantly, without breathing life into Obama Care and jerking the rug out from under any of our Congressional delegation who are fighting the good fight.

  5. Blaine Dunning says:

    No Thanks Jan!

  6. Sgt. Preston says:

What can Gov. Brewer possibly be thinking…or does she also let her “advisors” do that for her? It’s fortunate she’s termed limited. I’ve heard her say shes “nver lost an election.” If she was running again, she could scratch that line from her repertoire.

  7. Joe Evans says:

I’m surprised these doctors would allow themselves to be used in this manner. I’ve had conversations with my own physicians about Obama’s overtaking of the American health care system, and the two I’ve spoken with appeared to cringe at the thought of what the impact to the health care delivery system will be. One doctor told me that his father and both of his brothers went into the practice of medicine. He, however, is discouraging his own son from following the family profession based on what is taking place. I was also told that many doctors are taking early retirement, just to avoid having to practice under the conditions imposed by Obamacare.

    • 1776 says:

Update your passport and do some research under the category “medical tourism”. Both patients AND doctors are going outside the US to obtain or provide medical care in a free market environment. From what I hear, from MD acquaintances here, care can be as excellent as anywhere in the US depending on your choice and at far less cost.

      • Sally Forth says:

This is true. I have friends who have gone to Costa Rica for surgery. The doctors are American, the surgeries were very successful and at a fraction of the cost.

  8. Delilah says:

I have some very good Doctors, but they will retire before Obamacare goes into effect fully. I am scared of what kind of care we will be getting in the future. Until we in the states change the laws where Congress must use Obamacare and the SS system, we will be in trouble. We have seen a change this week, lets hope they keep going with the young guns and rid us of the McStains, McFlakes and the Gramnestys. Even get rid of the Brewers and the McCommish’s and the Pierce’s and the Tobins. Clean sweep and elect Conservatives.

  9. LD 23 PC says:

I remember being so relieved when Republican Jan Brewer succeeded Democrat Janet Napolitano. I never would have thought that the day would come when Brewer would act no differently than her liberal predecessor. More than being angry (which I am!), I am tremendously disappointed.

The Democrats must be getting a real kick out of this lunacy. I’m not.

  10. DB Cooper says:

This is an enlightening post. I had no idea this scheme was being condoned by a Republican governor and to this degree. Until I read her email, I still wasn’t sure. If she’s so fond of Obama’s takeover of our medical care, then SHE can sign up for it. How dare Gov. Brewer think she speaks for me! No wonder Republicans are getting fed up. We are being told by so called Republicans McCain and Flake along with a group of other RINOs and Dems, that we should turn the other cheek to millions of illegals — who will never vote Republican. Have our elected “leaders’ lost their collective minds? Do they think we have? Let’s boot these double crossers out of office on the next ballot we hold in our hands. They deserve it!

  11. Louise Ann says:

All this goodness – as long as there are still taxpayers!!

  12. West Valley GOP says:

Jan Brewer was my state senator and representative decades ago. She was her own person back then and was solidly conservative. That was before the McCain cabal gave her a brain transplant. She is not the same person today that she was, which is tremendous waste of a Republican in the governor’s office. When she follows her own instincts, she can make us proud, such as her ORIGINAL view on Obamacare, and when she took on Obama on illegal immigration. This latest display is digusting. Kudos to Seeing Red AZ for this excellent expose.

It is called hubris….she got it along will all the others that have learned to love their names in spotlights and believe their press releases.

      • eubykdisop says:

No, Westnash, you don’t know the meaning of the term “hubris” as evidenced by this comment from you about Sheriff Joe Arpaio:

        “Westnash says:

Interesting that when you have someone like Joe who continues to hang on…you have a real vacuum behind them. Their ego just wont let them develop a successor. Joe should retire soon and develop a strong successor…but I am afraid hubris has set in long ago.”

  13. Tucson Voter says:

Governor Brewer is caving into Obamacare by expanding Medicaid, i.e. Access in AZ, to 133% of the poverty level. It is already at 100% of the poverty level. This will immediately increase taxes by $325 million and it will expand abortion coverage for mental health (which can be depression) reasons because that is what Access covers now.

Governor Brewer WILL NOT have the votes to pass this if all the Conservative Republicans in the House and Senate do not support it.

Please call and email these legislators and tell them to SAY NO to expansion of Medicaid in AZ. Other states are rejecting it and so should we.

Brewer and her fed-med-pushing team must have money to burn. Today my wife, our college student son and I each got a separate letter from the Guv. It was identical to the linked email message in the last line of this post. Apparently she never heard of the practice of “house holding” letters, sending a single letter to all of the registered voters with the same last name at a single household. If she’s so concerned about money, employing this small concept would save thousands of dollars. I doubt the thought entered her mind or that of her strategists.

  16. LEO IN TSN says:

As expressed in the concerns above, obamaocare will destroy the American health care system and must be repealed. So why did RINOs Boehner, Cantor & Ryan insist that the current Continuing (Spending) Resolution be stripped of amendments designed to do just that? Only one of the AZ4 R’s stood up to them by voting against the sterile money bill, and that was Matt Salmon [HT to Family Research Council Washington Update March 7].

However, equally as treacherous was the legislation that was tacked onto a spending bill separate from obamaocare in a stealth move by the former obamao dimocrat Congress. That amendment mandated a federal database of ALL American medical records, and medical providers had to start complying last year. It is already being put together, and no doubt being used. All of the information contained in all of our medical records will be available to every obamao czar, to be used against US for everything – possessing firearms, starting businesses, driving, getting medical care for chronic ailments or for the elderly, sick and retarded, what food ration coupons you will be allowed, and on into total control of everything.

That database has to be repealed and destroyed. It is separate from obamaocare and must be addressed separately. Why are the AZ4 (or at least 3 of them) hiding in silence? Tell THEM your concerns, and try to get them motivated. Why do they think they were elected??

    God bless America.

  17. Henry says:

Unfortunately, the short sighted endorsement of Obabacare based on a simple financial analysis will prove to be detrimental to Arizona. Whatever is anticipated and planned as the economic result well change over time to be far more expensive as the definition of state paid expenses expands and the Federal aid to those essences declines over time. This is the way it works folks.

There is old adage about not letting the camel put its nose in the tent. In this case we are kicking the camel in the nose and insisting the camel put his rear end in the tent and walk confidently backwards. The short sighted will not understand that to get the camel to back is not the same in both instances. It will only take a very few years before it is “we the people” who will be denied our nose in the tent.

  18. Van says:

A Group of US met at the Capitol that day and were over 20 Ft. away and those with signs were told by Capitol Police to move over 80 Ft. away to the sidewalk as this is private property stated by Capitol Police who took an oath to the Constitution and the 1st Amendment is part of it and told them so, their response just following orders, sounded like Germany, by the way never supported her. God Bless You; Van
