Leftist school assignments: Think like a Nazi; doses of political bias

Ed Supe blames Common Core for “Jews are evil” assignment

The Times Union reports on a “sophisticated” assignment given to Albany High School students. They were to watch and read Nazi propaganda and then write an argument that Jews are evil and the source of Germany’s problems, using a Nazi perspective. “You must argue that Jews are evil, and use solid rationale from government propaganda to convince me of your loyalty to the Third Reich!,” their teacher instructed.  In addition, the students were asked to include ”any experiences you have with … Jews being evil.”

One third of the English class refused to participate in the assignment.

Albany Superintendent Marguerite Vanden Wyngaard blamed tougher Common Core standards that require “sophisticated” writing linking English composition to other subjects, like world history.

Calling the exercise “especially tone deaf,” New York magazine noted that the assignment could have concerned a wide range of topics.

“I would apologize to our families,” Vanden Wyngaard said. “I don’t believe there was malice or intent to cause any insensitivities to our families of Jewish faith.” Vanden Wyngaard said that the teacher will face some kind of disciplinary action, which could range from a letter of reprimand to firing. “You asked a child to support the notion that the Holocaust was justified, that’s my struggle,” she said. “It’s an illogical leap for a student to make.”

There’s even more. EAG reports that eighth-graders in Wisconsin’s Union Grove School District were assigned to fill out a “Liberalism vs. Conservatism” crossword puzzle — learning some new and very questionable “facts” along the way.

In conjunction with their “civics” assignment the students got a good dose of political bias and indoctrination, as they learned conservatism is “the political belief of preserving traditional moral values by restricting personal freedoms.” And liberalism? That’s “the political belief of equality and personal freedom for everyone, often changing the current system to increase government protection of civil liberties.”

How about teachers coaching fourth graders at Cedar Hills Elementary in Jacksonville, Florida to write, “I am willing to give up some of my constitutional rights in order to be safer or more secure.” Read more here.

On its website, Education Action Group (EAG) says it shines a spotlight on the leftist agenda and activists and their mission to “fundamentally transform” the United States of America through the government education system.

Good luck. America’s children are being indoctrinated by these people each and every school day.

SRA People, Common Core has been snuck into AZ and will be put in place in government schools for the next school year – that means AUGUST 2013 in most districts, FOUR MONTHS FROM NOW. This program is pure Marxist evil straight from his Communist Manifesto.

It is urgent that you start bombarding your Legislative District Chairs, your County GOP Chairs, your State GOP Chair and your state legislators to have this repealed. You can try the State School Superintendent also, but it seems he has already overdosed on the kool-aide.

This emergency requires action now, not just words. This is about saving OUR American kids.

    God bless America.

    • Joe Evans says:

Propagandizing our youth is a page right out of Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf.” And LEO IN TSN is correct in his assessment of Common Core. I found it fascinating that the Albany School Superintendent actually blamed Common Core for this despicable assignment.

Michelle Malkin has an entire series called ‘Rotten to the Core’ which tells the truth about this insidious Obama-backed education scheme. Her articles are in this section on education. They contain important information.

  2. Observer says:

Requiring students to role play Nazi allegiance is offensive enough. It is further exacerbated by asking them to write their own personal experiences with “Jews being evil.” How about their personal experiences with Muslims being evil or Baptists being evil? Would either of those “assignments” fly? Muslims were the sole commandeers of the planes that flew into the World Trade Center buildings, killing 3,000 innocents on Sept. 11, 2001. Fred Phelps, the nutcase who protests against military funerals is the pastor of Westboro Baptist Church. He and his parishioners picket military funerals with signs that say “Thank God for dead soldiers.” They hold up banners at funerals for gays saying “God hates fags.” They also protest against Jews.

  3. Hometown Guy says:

All true. And the crossword puzzle assignment is nothing short of subtle mind control, a concerted effort by the education establishment to mischaracterize conservatives to our children as they elevate liberalism. The funny thing is, liberals are now scurrying away from the term liberal because of the negative connotations and calling themselves “progressives.” Why any conservatives have taken up their terminology to conceal themselves is beyond me. Bill O’Reilly uses their preferred word constantly.

Here are the NEA education elites and their true views. This ad is not recent, so the salaries shown are much higher, but the points are well made. Pay attention:

  4. eubykdisop says:

The New Order or the New Order of Europe was the political order which Nazi Germany wanted to impose on Europe, and eventually the rest of the world.

“The year 1941 will be, I am convinced, the historical year of a great European New Order.” – Adolf Hitler

On 27 October 1941, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt stated in a speech “I have in my possession a secret map, made in Germany by Hitler’s government, by planners of the new world order.” So as far back as 1941, an American president recognized plans for a Nazi “New World Order”.

Today, the Vice President of The United States is calling for a “New World Order”:

“Delivering the keynote address at the Export-Import Bank Conference in Washington, D.C. on Friday, Vice President Joe Biden called for the creation of a “new world order” for improvement of the economy and international business relations.”

“The affirmative task we have now,” Biden said, “is to create a new world order, because the global order is changing again, and the institutions of the world worked so well in the post-World War II era for decades, they need to be strengthened, and some need to be changed.”

    http://www.examiner.com/article/vice-president-joe-biden-calls-for-a-new-world-order

Where do youth and children fit in the “New World Order” of which Joe Biden so eloquently spoke?

“This new Reich will give its youth to no one, but will itself take youth and give to youth its own education and its own upbringing.” – Adolf Hitler, May 1, 1937

“When an opponent declares, ‘I will not be on your side’, I calmly say, ‘Your child belongs to us already. . . . What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.’” – Adolf Hitler, November 6, 1933

“First it was Hillary Clinton’s “It Takes a Village” to raise children by community effort and cost. Now it’s uber-leftist Melissa Harris-Perry who says it takes a “community” to care for children. By “community” she means the State. She teaches at Tulane University, and before that she corrupted the minds of young people at Princeton and the University of Chicago. She also has a television presence on MSNBC.”

Connect the dots, folks! If Conservatives fail to wake up and perceive that it is the “New World Order” agenda which is at the core of ALL of the outrages being imposed by Obama and his minions, we are going to waste our time and energy jousting at windmills instead of taking meaningful action to defend ourselves, our children and our grandchildren!

  5. Diane Douglas says:

Those in Arizona who think that our children will be safe from this type of indoctrination due to our “parental rights” statutes have another think coming – as my grandma used to say. In 2005 the Ninth Circuit ruled that parents lose their constitutional rights to control their children’s educational content (silly me, thought that was a God given right) at the school house door (Fields v. Palmdale).

If you watched Golf’s Masters Tournament this weekend you were exposed to a blitzkrieg (pun intended) of Common Core propaganda during virtually every commercial break – sponsored by ExxonMobil (ExxonMobil.com/letssolvethis). People must be catching onto “common core” because while maybe one of the commercials mention common core by name; most referred to a “National Math and Science Initiative.” They perpetuated the fraud that this was a state driven reform initiative. It is not.

One of the ExxonMobil commercials referred to a program to train math and science teachers over the next DECADE! A couple of interesting points:

If it takes 10 years to train the teachers that will be 10 more years of American students falling behind.

During the previous, failed, federal program, No Child Left Behind, all teacher were required to become “highly qualified” in their subject area. So, if all current math and science teachers are highly qualified, why must we spend the next 10 years and how many billions of dollars training new teachers?

I can’t begin to imagine how much ExxonMobil must have spent on this weekend long propaganda campaign but no doubt they will make it back many times over. Common Core Standards is about nothing but more taxpayer $$$$s for grown-ups and those companies involved in “public/private partnerships” while doing little if anything to improve the quality of our children’s education.

Before the standards were even written the educrats’ propaganda campaign began about how “great” the standards are. Suggested reading – The Emperor’s New Clothes.

I was a member of the Peoria Unified School District Governing Board when the Common Core Standards were adopted in June 2010 by our unelected AZ State Brd of Education – while our elected Legislature was out of session. With the recent passing of HB2425 our elected representatives have relinquished their authority to this unelected board with regards to Common Core Standards and the PARCC test.

  6. eubykdisop says:

I see several mentions of “Common Core” in this thread. Please understand that “Common Core” is but one very tiny piece of a much, much larger, grander scheme! Do away with “Common Core” per se, and the larger scheme rolls on completely unaffected!

    “Redefining Education for Global Citizenship”

    “By Debra K. Niwa”

“Global education reforms lurk behind the changes being foisted on U.S. schools: redesigning American high schools, promoting universal preschool, expanding technology, increasing data collections, linking secondary and higher education, and more. But where will these lead? In revisiting the old ideas behind reforms, we would be wise to ask, “Do we want the kind of life these changes will bring?”

    “Lifetime monitoring”

“Imagine all facets of your life — school, work, health, leisure, and spiritual — monitored and assessed from birth-to-death through one comprehensive “system.” Under the banner of “lifelong education,” such a system is evolving.”

“Promoted through United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Organisation (sic) for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD), the lifelong education principle is influencing school, workforce, and economic reforms worldwide.”

“Despite formal withdrawal from UNESCO in December 1984 by then-President Reagan, the global lifelong education scheme nevertheless began spreading throughout the U.S. during the nearly 19-year period of non-membership.”

“Long before President George W. Bush rejoined the U.S. with UNESCO in 2003, the UNESCO-endorsed idea received U.S. tax dollars through federal laws that funded different aspects of the principle.”

“Upheavals in education are linked to building the system. Included are efforts to: combine the academic with the vocational for all students; use technology for teaching, training, and data collections; eliminate public control through creation of appointed councils; establish school-business partnerships; and much more.”

“Technology in particular — combined with surveys, assessments, and evaluations — plays an indispensable data-gathering role for monitoring individuals and forcing accountability to those with the power to dictate the systems’ goals.”

“Strip away the hype — about equality, justice, diversity, human rights, and 21st century workplace skills — and what remains is nothing less than a global system of social and economic control.”

  7. Westnash says:

Many looney tune teachers out there as well. Eliminating tenure should go along with term limits. There is no right to hold a job.

    • Orion says:

I agree, Westnash. Tenure has allowed lousy teachers to keep their jobs and continue disadvantaging classrooms of students for years. Teacher tenure was another union construct, ensuring mediocre (or worse) teachers uninterrupted employment and full benefits (often including paid teaching “sabbaticals”) with very nice retirement packages.

    • eubykdisop says:

No, Westnash, term limits have been proven to increase both spending and debt:

“Legislative term limits and state spending”

      “H. Abbie Erler, December 2007″

      “Abstract”

“Supporters of legislative term limits often claim that they will lower state spending levels. Using fiscal data from 48 states from 1977 to 2001, this paper finds little support for this assertion. Instead, this analysis finds that states with term limits have higher spending levels than states without term limits.”

“The Impact of Legislative Term Limits on State Debt: Increased Spending, Flat Revenue”

      “Western Illinois University
      Johnathan Day, Keith Boeckelman
      12 April, 2012″

“This article examines the effect of state legislative term limits on government debt levels.”

“Term-limited states greatly increase spending while not increasing revenue levels and thus substantially increase debt. Since states with term limits have higher debt, we advise caution in adopting them.”

And the fact is that you would have Arizona taxpayers pay to promote the Reconquista agenda in our schools:

      “Westnash says:
      March 12, 2013 at 8:36 am
I would be in favor of Arizona requiring Spanish (for legal students of course).”

You’re a typical “tax and spend” Liberal Obama DEMOCRAT, Westnash, LOL!

Have a nice day, Westy! :-)

      • westnash says:

Poor Euby, never a word against big govt.

      • eubykdisop says:

Oh, you don’t have to tell us how much you love big government, Westhash. We already know that, LOL!

You support term limits which result in increased government spending and debt:

        “Westnash says:
        April 15, 2013 at 5:46 am
Eliminating tenure should go along with term limits.”

You want to waste taxpayer money, while promoting the Reconquista agenda, by teaching every student in the state of Arizona to… speak SPANISH!

        “Westnash says:
        March 12, 2013 at 8:36 am
I would be in favor of Arizona requiring Spanish (for legal students of course).”

You want big government to expand background checks on those seeking to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights!

        “Westnash says:
        April 1, 2013 at 1:32 pm
What is wrong with a better background check for guns? I have guns and have no problem with it. The Black Helicopter crowd may not like it but there is nothing unconstitutional about it.”

You even use EXACTLY the same words as Liberal DEMOCRAT Joe Biden!

VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: “Now the NRA which is engaging in a campaign which is, I’m not unaccustomed to, of disinformation to try to scare people. Let me read some of the thing they’re saying about background checks. They say “We,” the Federal Government, “want to put every private firearms transaction right under the thumb of the Federal Government and keep all those names in a massive federal registry.” Kind of scary, man. The black helicopter crowd really is upset.”

        http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-TV/2013/04/09/Biden-The-Black-Helicopter-Crowd-is-Really-Upset

Look at that! “The black helicopter crowd.” Word for word right out of the mouth of Liberal Obama DEMOCRAT Joe Biden, LOL!

You’re a big government, “tax and spend” Liberal Obama DEMOCRAT, LOL!

Have a nice day, Biden… er, I mean Westy! :-)
