Weekend reading guaranteed to make you smarter

The brilliant mind of Thomas Sowell hones in on the issues again. Read “Inarticulate Republicans.”

Dr. Sowell is a conservative columnist, economist and political commentator, but first and foremost, a man who knows the art of communication — the vital messaging element sorely lacking within GOP leadership. Sowell describes the failure to effectively use language to benefit our cause and forward conservative issues in ways that resonate with the American people.

We urge you to read his wise analysis as posted in Townhall.

Effective communication is a skill that Sowell has mastered. Republican leadership could take some lessons from him. They have bungled the “shutdown,” since they missed what was an extraordinary opportunity to explain the degree of debt we have and the out of control spending that will burden this country indefinitely. On top of this, Obama has heaped trillions in his socialized medicine scheme, which relies on the young to shoulder the costs and restricts care to older Americans.

Those who voted for Marxist Barack Hussein Obama deserve what they get. The rest of us and future generations of Americans surely don’t.

Hi, American Dad! You addressed the CORE issue underlying all other issues; debt! It’s very telling that the Republican leadership wants to talk about everything BUT debt, the “debt ceiling” and all of the far reaching implications of increasing debt and raising the “debt ceiling”! THAT is the elephant in the living room and it is THAT which the Republican leadership should be addressing and what the Republican leadership could speak to very effectively! It’s a no brainer! So the question is, WHY are they not talking about debt? “Follow the money!”

Ask yourself; “Who benefits from increasing debt!” ;-)

      Consider this, American Dad:

“Commentary: U.S. fiscal failure warrants a de-Americanized world”

“By Xinhua writer Liu Chang, 2013-10-13″

“BEIJING, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) — As U.S. politicians of both political parties are still shuffling back and forth between the White House and the Capitol Hill without striking a viable deal to bring normality to the body politic they brag about, it is perhaps a good time for the befuddled world to start considering building a de-Americanized world.”

“Such alarming days when the destinies of others are in the hands of a hypocritical nation have to be terminated, and a new world order should be put in place, according to which all nations, big or small, poor or rich, can have their key interests respected and protected on an equal footing.”

Xinhua is a state-controlled media agency that reports directly to the China’s ruling Communist Party. Notice the “new world order” which I have often written about. Who is the largest holder of American debt? China! ;-)

I’m not American Dad, but do appreciate the important information. Lots to process, but necessary for thinking citizens to know. Now, as never before since the war between the states, the future of our country is at stake, and we’d better be armed with responses when the liberals shoot their barrages of leftist spew our way.

        Sure thing, Orion! ;-)

      Follow the money some more!

      “ROTHSCHILD”

      “Global Financial Advisory”

      “Leading in financial advice worldwide”

      “China, Japan and Korea”

“Rothschild’s long-standing presence in China dates back to 1838, and we were one of the first business institutions from the Western world to re-establish relations after 1953.”

“Our offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong give us direct access to the Chinese market. Our locally based team of advisory bankers commands an in-depth knowledge of the country’s economic development and the challenges facing its industries.”

“Through many years advising China’s multinationals, state-owned and private enterprises, we have developed an exceptional understanding of the local regulatory and market environment. Our team is skilled at bridging the cultural gaps that sometimes exist between the managements of foreign and local companies.”

“Senior bankers lead every assignment from start to finish, ensuring that all clients benefit from Rothschild’s intellectual capital and global network of contacts and industry sector expertise.”

Yup, Sowell hits the nail right on the head! Clearly, his article is a starting point for further thought by readers. Where can we go with this? Well, we can start by asking a question: WHY isn’t the Republican leadership articulating things in a way which resonates with the American people? Hmmm…

Conservatism is a PRINCIPLED approach. Selling Conservatism is dependent upon articulating a set of sound, proven principles, adhering to those principles and basing all positions and actions upon those principles. THEN the case may be made for ANY position on ANY issue by demonstrating how that position is aligned with sound, immutable Conservative principles.

It’s very simple, very sensible and easily understood. Why, then, are people like Boehner failing to do this? The answer is that Boehner, and those of his ilk, are unprincipled people! Why are they unprincipled? Because being principled leaves NO wiggle room! And who would want wiggle room? Those who don’t want to be held ACCOUNTABLE to a stated set of principles!

The bottom line is that Conservatives are principled people. They practice the self-discipline of conforming themselves to what they know to be right and good, not to what is in their small, petty, personal self-interest! Conservatives are loyal to something bigger than themselves; Truth!

You can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear! As long as we have those in the Republican leadership who are living at and operating from the lowest level of human instincts, so long we will reap results which are at the lowest level of what is possible!
