Continued U.S. joblessness? Chamber’s answer: import workers

Watch, if you can stand it, as Thomas Donohue, President and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce,  describes the pressing need for immigrants to fill American jobs and compete with citizen workers for those declining jobs.

This most recent employment situation summery released by the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, tells a different story. Take into consideration that these numbers are routinely released by the Obama administration, which would try to put the best face on the continuing dismal unemployment numbers.  Yet it cites 11.3 million Americans still unemployed, with the unemployment rate at 7.3 percent. The number of involuntary part-time workers — those whose hours have been cut back or were unable to find full-time jobs stood 8.1 million in October.

Among the 1.5 million “marginally attached,” the government counts 815,000 discouraged workers — persons not currently looking for work because they believe no jobs are available for them — essentially unchanged from this time last year. Scroll through this chart going back to 1947 for an historical snapshot.

Donohue, whose members profit from paying substandard wages to illegal workers, farcically claims the public stands fully behind amnesty, saying “71 percent of Americans support immigration reform.”

National pollster Pew Research reports less than a third of the public (32%) approves of the job Obama is doing on immigration policy with 60% disapproving of his push for amnesty. Breitbart titles this article “Public revolts against Obama, political establishment’s amnesty efforts.”

The analysis here fails miserably when it proceeds from false assumptions and statistics deliberately massaged by the government.

The REAL unemployment numbers are closer to 23.6% right now. Realize that those who have given up looking for a job or have been unemployed for over 99 weeks are no longer counted as unemployed in those government statistics spoon-fed to the media each week.

At this point, more than 102 million working age Americans do not have a job, and 40 percent of those that are actually working earn less than $20,000 a year in wages. If we actually are experiencing an “economic recovery”, then why is the federal government spending nearly a trillion dollars a year on welfare? (Why are almost 50 million Americans receiving foodstamps?) And that does not even include entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare. We live in a nation where poverty is exploding and the middle class is shrinking with each passing day.

So, Donohue is either a fool or he’s part of the program to deceive America and help lead us to the final collapse of the nation. Which do YOU think is more likely?

      Sovereign,

The post clearly states that the figures we cited were massaged by the Obama administration, which would try to put the best face on the continuing dismal situation. We used the BLS numbers to illustrate that even the feds can’t hide from the truth.

Your illuminating facts and figures are appreciated.

  2. Dennis O'Brien says:

The LA Times recently wrote that the amount of US dollars known as “remittances” Hispanics send to their families in Mexico, Central and South America has more than doubled since 2000. This far outpaces the foreign aid the United States foolishly continues to send to bolster foreign economies while our own is in the toilet. In 2011, remittances totaled $53.1 billion, more than eight times the amount of “official aid.” Nearly 55 percent of those in our country either legally or illegally send part of their U.S. earnings to family outside the U.S. Seventeen percent of American born Hispanics follow the same pattern of siphoning money from our economy.

And notice who is sitting beside the Chamber’s Thomas Donohue?
None other than a compliant member of the Catholic clergy. The Church is front and center in pushing for amnesty for illegals. That’s why most of our family finally took a hike.

A very well done article, SRAZ, which exposes the interlocking aspects of the leftist propaganda campaign for increased legal immigration! :-)

Here’s an additional tidbit of information to consider:

“The states where immigrant households with children have the highest welfare use rates are Arizona (62 percent); Texas, California, and New York (61 percent); Pennsylvania (59 percent); Minnesota and Oregon (56 percent); and Colorado (55 percent).”

    http://cis.org/immigrant-welfare-use-2011

57 percent of all households that are led by an immigrant (legal or illegal) are enrolled in at least one welfare program.

    From the Legal Aid Society:

    “Public Assistance As An Immigrant”

“People who are not U.S. citizens have the right to get some welfare benefits. This page will help you identify what benefits you can receive as a non-citizen. Each kind of benefit has different rules.”

“What kind of cash assistance can qualified immigrants get?”

“Two kinds of cash assistance: Safety Net Assistance and Family Assistance. Both give you the same amount of money. Cash assistance is paid twice for a month for food, clothing and housing. The amount of money you get depends on how many people are in your home and what your income is.”

Here’s a list of some of the benefits available to legal immigrants who are not citizens:

“AN ADVOCATE’S GUIDE TO GOVERNMENT BENEFITS
    FOR IMMIGRANTS
    FEBRUARY, 2008″

    “Food stamps
    WIC
Health Care (Medicaid and Medicaid-funded Programs)
    Public assistance
    Housing
    Homeless services
    Domestic violence services
    Social Security
    Supplemental Security Income
    Unemployment Insurance
    Worker’s Compensation”

    Here’s more:

    “Exceptions to Every Rule”

“Matthew Lesko, the professorial-looking infomercial star who wears suits covered in question marks and writes books offering tips on where to get free or cheap goods and services, writes in his online newsletter Government Programs for Immigrants and Non-Citizens that non-citizens can apply for U.S. government grants to buy or rehabilitate a house, purchase prescription drugs or cover day care while seeking work. Free legal help for non-citizens can also be obtained through the government, Lesko writes.”

So the U. S. Chamber of Commerce wants to increase LEGAL immigration because LEGAL, non-citizen immigrants are eligible for all sorts of government benefits and assistance. These benefits and subsidies allow employers to pay substandard wages because the basic needs of legal, non-citizen immigrants are being paid for with YOUR tax dollars. That’s called “cost shifting”!

  4. ZOO says:

If one thing has become crystal clear since the beginning of the new millennium, it is that both stakeholders in the two-party oligarchy have vested interests in the invasion from Mexico. Partnering with the mainstream media and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, whose personal stakes are advertising revenue and cheap labor respectively, this sorted ‘cartel’ has managed to keep the third-world invasion running on all cylinders.

The cartel’s ongoing success can be attributed to their double-fisted weapons of choice:

    1) Feign enforcement of U.S. immigration laws and sincerity in border security
    2) Diffuse and confuse the American public’s sense of urgency and fabricate information about the invasion’s cancerous growth since the turn of the century

An overload of information regarding ‘weapon #1’ could fill an entire website, but perhaps the most blatant example surrounds the Secure Fence Act of 2006.

As public sentiment and rage began to boil under the George W. Bush (the Father Of Illegal Immigration) administration, the 2001-2007 Republican-controlled Congress sought to quell growing discontent by passing the 2006 legislation assuring the securing of the American/Mexican border. This was soon followed by the 2007 Bush/Kennedy/McCain amnesty drive, which came to a dead stop after experiencing four flat tires in July.

A mere four months after the failure of “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” [amnesty], funding for the Secure Fence Act of 2006 was killed by the GOP-controlled congress via a DHS funding bill amendment by Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) – cementing the legacy of the invaded border state of Texas’ role in fueling the conspiracy and destroying the country.

The rarely seen and media-smothered conclusion by enforcement pundits was “no amnesty- no fence”, and to date the basic, common sense move to protect America has remained dead as a doornail – courtesy of the oligarchy.

But let’s move on to #2. The cartel has managed to spoon-feed Americans with the same, repetitive disinformation regarding the U.S. illegal alien population (“8-11 million”) for over thirteen years. This has been perpetrated by use of two “fairytale” concepts:

    1) The illegal alien population has remained “fixed”
    2) Illegal aliens have gone home and/or have stopped coming

In 2006, the global investment and securities firm Bear Stearns (who failed in 2008 and was sold to JPMorgan Chase) conducted their own study of the U.S. illegal alien population. The Bear Stearns study was based on the number of remittances sent back to Mexico from the U.S.

Their study concluded that the U.S. illegal alien population (through 2005) was 20-22 million. The study findings were supplemented with other data showing substantial increases in households and school enrollments in Mexican “immigrant” communities.

Even more revealing numbers of the Bear Stearns study show that from George W. Bush’s first year in the oval office and extending five years into his administration, the number of to-Mexico remittances increased by 126.7% with a corresponding increase in Mexican illegal aliens of over 9 million – just 2 million short and eight years later of what the cartel now claims is the current population.

A recap of the Bear Stearns study can be viewed here:

It is important to note that the Bear Stearns study only addresses the increases in remittances/Mexican illegal aliens, not the total (existing) Mexican illegal alien population as it was from 1995 – 2005.

Of course, all of this blatant corruption and connivery was injection-molded into ‘baton form’ and handed to Barack Hussein Obama and the Democratic Party, in the relay-team endeavor to reshape America into a nation of peasants and lords. Se habla espanol?

    • ZOO says:

Clarification: The Bear Sterns study included the total estimate of U.S. Mexicans illegal aliens in 2005, but not the existing population from 1995-2004.

    • eubykdisop says:

Well, ZOO, we don’t need to worry nearly as much about the “invasion from Mexico” as we do about the traitorous sabotage of those within this country.

For example, you actively supported Brewer’s Obamacare Medicaid expansion and you are willing to support Randy Pullen, who wrote and published an extensive argument in support of Brewer and her Obamacare Medicaid expansion.

After I debated you extensively, you finally stated that you no longer support Medicaid expansion on the grounds that it’s a tax. BUT, you have expressed NO OTHER objection to Brewer’s Obamacare Medicaid expansion, not even on the grounds that it is “the encroachment of socialism”, as SRAZ has put it.

If the courts do not find in favor of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit against Brewer’s Obamacare Medicaid expansion, on the grounds that it violates taxing provisions of the Arizona Constitution, then your only objection to “the encroachment of socialism” is gone! And you have expressed nothing but continued willingness to support Randy Pullen, Brewer’s hatchet man, who urged Republican leadership to make a “smart choice” and to “follow the Governor’s lead.”

So you have expressed no objections to “the encroachment of socialism” or to Randy Pullen, who backed “the encroachment of socialism”, as a candidate.

Our major concern should be about Socialist “Americans” like you, in Conservative clothing, posting in Conservative blogs in an attempt to convince Conservatives that Obama’s Socialist agenda is nothing to worry about.

Your usefulness to the left, however, is over as you have been exposed for the Liberal agent that you are and you will continue to be exposed, on an ongoing basis. Tell you handlers they need to bring in a new Obama troll who hasn’t been found out yet.
