Obama’s embark on 17-day Christmas “tradition”

Barack Obama and his family will ditch the cold and wet weather in Washington DC as they leave this Friday for a much needed 17-day Christmas vacation in Hawaii.

The Obama’s and their entourage traditionally spend the holiday break in a luxurious home on Oahu with spectacular ocean views. For the past three years, Obama rented a $24,500-per-week private, gated Plantation Estate, on the white sand beach of Castle Point Kailuana in KailuaBay.

White House Dossier reports that Michelle Obama revealed that she and Barack don’t give one another Christmas gifts. They merely say, “We’re in Hawaii,” and that’s Christmas gift enough. But actually the present is from taxpayers, and it’s an expensive one. Keith Koffler writes the total cost to taxpayers of Obama’s vacations to Hawaii since becoming president  — excluding the upcoming trip — “is likely in excess of $20 million, and possibly much, much more.”

Air Force One is known to cost about $180,000 an hour to fly. Based on an estimated 18 hours roundtrip flying time for the jet between Washington and Honolulu, the travel cost alone of Obama’s decision to return to Hawaii amounts to around $3.24 million. And that doesn’t include the price tag for the massive security operation required to move the president or the cost of the cargo plane that follows Air Force One around.

Meanwhile, the national debt approaches $17.3 trillion — nearly $6 trillion of which was racked up in the first term of the Obama presidency –– a 50% increase on Obama‘s watch. View the ticking national debt clock and its impact on YOU.

The tone-deaf and egocentric Obama’s, who don’t even take a stab at feeling the pain affecting so many Americans, will depart Dec. 20, after what is expected to be a light work week. Not the White House blog has a satirical overview of the upcoming vacation. And if you’re having trouble with your holiday gift list, be sure to visit the White House Obama Store.

Barack and Michelle Obama are instilling some fine family values in their daughters: Use other people’s money to take what you can, spend what you will, lie as it benefits you, and shirk responsibility for fun in the sun.

During the terrible times of WWII, the British royal family identified with the people of Great Britain, turning aside from lavish displays and engaging with their suffering citizens in the war effort throughout the German blitz. Yes, they lived in their palace home, but showed compassion for and visited and worked with their deprived citizens in numerous ways, from rolling bandages for the soldiers to their daughters (today’s Queen Elizabeth) serving in uniform.

Numerous bombs exploded at their Buckingham Palace home, but they stayed there, mingled with the people and offered encouragement. The high living and frequent vacationing Obama’s have no concept of providing such examples to Americans, who are still being hit by high unemployment and now the massive increases in insurance premiums as Obama socializes our medical care.

Seventeen days? That should qualify as excessive by anyone’s standards!! But then they regard themselves as superior to royalty.

I clicked on the White House Obama Store for last minute Christmas gifts, but they didn’t have any BHO whoopee cushions. If the Dems were really interested in reducing the national debt this would be a best seller. However, the noise throughout the country would be deafening.
