A telling line: One more look

McCain and Romney: The candidates make their last pitch in New Hampshire

National Review’s Byron York concludes his article with this revealing snippet:

After McCain finished, people crowded along a line to shake his hand as he made his way back to the bus. The polls say he will win the primary, and from there, who knows?  But people also wondered if this was the end, the last time they would see the man, and they wanted to get one more look.

New year’s resolution

A BETTER RESPONSE THAN  A NON-REPLY

secure_borders_before_contributions.jpg

Next time you receive a self-addressed, stamped envelope in a letter requesting donations from the pro-amnesty Sens. Jon Kyl and John McCain, or CD 6 Rep. Jeff Flake, you might want to copy this and send it back to them at their own expense.

What a powerful message it would send if their offices were flooded with these instead of checks.

McCain: Multimillionaire’s husband running on line of credit

December 31, 2007

Señor John McCain’s dilemma appeared to be whether to dip into family money, as Mitt Romney is doing, or employ his other option—cash in on the public financing system to get his message out to the very voters who would be footing the bill to hear it.

How well that sits with those who are supporting other candidates remains to be seen.

But from the looks of his final-hour and desperate donor solicitations, it would seem Cindy McCain has plugged her keg of Anheuser-Busch distributorship dollars.

Now here’s a winner of a story skew on the U.N. Climate Conference

December 16, 2007

America the hideous, America the dense

AZ Republic front page headline: ‘Cornered, U.S. relents on climate “Roadmap’

First paragraph:  In a hushed conference hall, as envoys from 186 nations looked on, the world’s lone superpower took a tongue-lashing from its most powerless, nation after poor nation assailing the U.S. “no” on the document at hand. Then the delegate from Papua New Guinea leaned into his microphone. We seek your leadership,” Kevin Conrad told the Americans. “But if for some reason you are not willing to lead, leave it to the rest of us. Please get out of the way.”

Followed by:  The U.N. climate conference exploded with applause, the U.S. delegation backed down, and the way was cleared Saturday for adoption of the “Bali Roadmap,” after a dramatic half-hour that set the stage for a grinding two years of climate talks to come.

And then:  The Bali conference, a contentious two-week affair that lapsed over into an extra day, was charged with launching negotiations to replace the Kyoto Protocol when it expires in 2012. That pact requires 37 industrial nations to reduce greenhouse gases by a relatively modest 5 percent on average in the next five years.

As the “Roadmap” talks begin, the focus again will fall on the United States, the lone major industrial nation to reject Kyoto. Many will be looking to next year following the election of a new American president, one who may be more willing to deal on deeper, mandatory emissions cuts than President Bush, who favors only voluntary approaches to reining in greenhouse gases.

Concluding with:  In the U.S. election campaign, meanwhile, the Democratic candidates, and even some Republicans, have endorsed the Kyoto-style idea of mandatory caps on emissions.

Then, treat yourself to the Newsbusters account here.  This organization’s tagline is Exposing and combating liberal media bias.

They report:  In the end, as press outlet after press outlet will report in the coming days that the Bush administration gave in to international demands at Bali concerning global warming, the truth is that much like at the G-8, the White House got exactly what it wanted from this conference, and the alarmists got virtually nothing.

In fact, once again, the Administration demonstrated its diplomatic aplomb concerning this matter, a skill media can’t possibly acknowledge.

A view of Canada’s Single Payer Health System

Would you like to function under this? Michael Moore and the liberals think this is just the ticket!

Oddly, increasing numbers of Americans hold the belief that health care is

Cheap shots at Romney’s LDS faith

November 16, 2007

Push polling calls taking the low road, praising McCain, slamming Romney.

This campaign strategy is a sure-fire, back-fire technique that simply spells desperation.  Check out these poll numbers from a variety of established national polling organizations. Mitt Romney is pulling away from the pack.

Mike Huckabee’s recent swipe at Mitt Romney for allegedly having used a lawn service firm which employs illegals was a deflective effort to deal with repeated criticism leveled at Huckabee’s attempts, while Arkansas governor, to offer college scholarships to children of illegals.

During an appearance on FOX News, audacious candidate Huckabee said, “I guess Mitt Romney would rather keep people out of college so they can keep working on his lawn.”
