As much as I hate to admit it, Noonan got this exactly right.

As I have said in a previous post….It is the battered wife syndrome. Conservative Republicans are tired of being slapped around and told to shut-up by Kyl and his ilk. Shut-up and take this McCain medicine as he shoves it down our throats. He, above all people, knows what McCain represents to conservatives. Ok, we will shut-up, but we are gone. Look for us at the polls, good luck. We don’t know what lies ahead, but we have had enough of what we left behind.

I hope the Republicans put the fan where McCain’s mouth is at the National Convention in St Paul. To show how in line they are with McCain to substitute non-CO2 producing fossil fuel with a more environmentally friendly substitute, they should be provided with hand fans and turn off the air conditioning units.

That will do as much to stop global warming as any of McCain’s junk science plans. The delegates will then have a much better idea of what is ahead for them with the fork tongue maverick as their president. A fan will be about all they will be able to afford. As my blessed mother use to say, “if Johnny boy jumps off the bridge, does that mean you have to jump off the bridge?” Apparently so, for the flat-earth Republicans.
