Department of Public Safety officers busted what authorities believed was a fraudulent identification operation in Phoenix on Wednesday afternoon.
Americo Perez Bamaca, 19, of Guatemala and Jesus Monroy-Cruz, 44, of Mexico were charged on suspicion of manufacturing fraudulent identification, taking the identity of another, conducting a criminal enterprise, forgery and trafficking in stolen identity, according to the public safety department.
A two-week investigation was conducted by the Arizona Fraudulent Identification Task Force, which was created in 2005 as part of a crackdown on crime related to illegal immigration
