AZ’s U.S. Rep. Trent Franks minces no words describing Obama

Arizona’s conservative Congressman Trent Franks (R-CD2) recently denounced President Barack Obama as “an enemy of humanity” who does “insane things.”

Franks’ remarks can be viewed on this 48-second video taken by the liberal group People for the American Way. He was speaking at the How to Take Back America ‘09  conference in St. Louis.

Bethany Haley, U. S. Rep. Franks’ House spokeswoman, emphasized that he was speaking specifically about the abortion issue and should have clarified that he considered Obama an enemy of “unborn humanity,” according to a report in the daily.

Franks is adamantly pro-life; Obama, a longtime abortion supporter — who when a member of the Illinois state senate was the reliable leftist vote in opposition of the Born Alive Infant Protection  Act — intended to ensure medical care to babies born as the result of a botched abortion.

The Congressman participated in the National Tea Party march to protest President Barack Obama’s health-care-reform proposals and spending policies. After the march, Franks issued this written statement:

Having spent much of this year fighting inconceivably bad policies like Cap-and-Tax, ObamaCare, Cash for Clunkers, and a seemingly countless number of efforts to expand the reach of government into private industries, it is so encouraging to see freedom-loving Americans from all over the country go to so much trouble to exercise one of their most basic rights, that of petitioning our government, and make their voices heard. Americans realize that the current Administration and Democrat-controlled Congress have put us on a slippery-slope toward socialism. These patriotic citizens have had enough of being told to listen to Washington; it’s time for Washington to listen to them.”

Congressman Franks is a stand-out conservative, who deserves our encouragement and support as he goes forward with his re-election bid.

Finally, someone calling it like it is. Thank you Congressman Franks.

INDEED!!! I appreciate this honest man’s integrity. What a rarity these days. It’s so much easier to “play nice.” This is a refreshing change of pace, especially among our AZ delegation. Franks is the only one worth his salt. I don’t live in his district, but I will be sending him a campaign contribution. “My” GOP “represenative” forgot that he’s supposed to be representing Republicans.

  3. Army of One says:

How long I’ve waited to hear the truth about Obama from our Republicans. McCain keeps complimenting him and giving accolades to Napolitano. Flake and Shadegg are limp on the border and call Arizonan Republicans names when speaking to the eastern press. I am not “xenophoblic and intolerant” but I am damn mad and feel betrayed.

Congressman Franks is the only one I send campaign contributions to, and I don’t live in his district. I will no longer continue to support those who work against the GOP platform and insult Arizona’s Republicans. My congressman removed the word “Conservative” from his billboards during the last campaign and replaced it with “Independent.”

That’s his right. It is also my right to remove my support and donations to him.
