AZ Republic lambastes TUSD’s ethnic studies duplicity as “bogus”

Although the liberal frothing and foaming educrats in the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) have been hand-wringing over the elimination of the biased ethnic studies program via actions taken by outgoing AZ Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne, he has an unlikely advocate for the law which went into effect yesterday. Today’s newspaper editorial, District must stop citing bogus data, is a must read.

Superintendent Horne has long protested the program and was instrumental in passage of HB 2281 which “prohibits a school district or charter school from including courses or classes that either promote the overthrow of the United States government or promote resentment toward a race or class of people.” (Complete bill information here)

Today’s editorial rightfully calls the data used to buttress the claims “repeated constantly by [the program’s] defenders that students perform better academically as a result of taking ethnic studies classes and that they go on to college more often” — “academically unsupportable.” Further the newspaper states that officials who make such claims “are acting irresponsibly in doing so.” The editorial goes so far as to say the results “appear rigged.”

Yesterday the newspaper ran this report titled, Tom Horne: Tucson Unified School District runs afoul of ethnic studies law — which included Horne’s finding regarding the controversial program pursuant to the applicable statute A.R.S. § 15-112(A), the first draft of which he authored.

The people of the state of Arizona can rest easy knowing that that our new Attorney General Tom Horne now has the responsibility to ensure the effective enforcement of this law.

It would be great to think the Arizona Republic is turning a new leaf as it hopes to swim against the failing print tide and keep readers as it enters a new year. But I’m smart enough and old enough to know this has to be an anomaly. I have no trust in this publication, although I do agree with this editorial. Thanks for including the link.

Ha! I had the same thought, Kathy! Let’s just take it for the fact that there are some truths that simply can’t be refuted — even by this stinking newspaper. Tom Horne has grown tremendously in my eyes. I didn’t vote for him in the primary and then realized I made a major mistake. Thomas was badly flawed. By the general election, I rectified my error.

The Tucson school district (TUSD) is a blight on Arizona, much like lunatic-left San Francisco (crazy pelosi’s district) is a blight on the entire world. TUSD is so radically lunatic, it actively promotes extremism in its students with its La Raza (The Race) Studies Program that praises socialism and socialists and denounces America and American ideals. Tucson and the surrounding Pima County, for those that don’t know, are essentially ILLEGALS sanctuaries and are completely at odds with the rest of the state. Grijalva, who is one of the most radical, extremist members of congress, “represents” a district dominated by hispanics and ILLEGALS. He is the nut-job that called for a boycott of his own state because it wanted to enforce federal immigration law. The overwhelming majority in Arizona citizens view Tucson, TUSD, Pima and grijalva as embarrassments, like most Americans view crazy pelosi. Knowing this helps one understand the nonsense.

Tom Horne is an Arizona hero! I know this topic. I live in the People’s Republic of Pima, which is quickly becoming an auxiliary arm of Mexico. These so called “ethnic studies” are nothing more than La Raza anti-American propaganda. Bless you for boldly staying on this issue, Mr. Horne.

It amused me during the election when people questioned Tom Horne’s committment to this issue. He spent YEARS fighting this, and I’m very glad to see he’s going to keep up fighting the forces of racism and the “Aztlan Doctrine” in Tucson.
