If this is true, and I sincerely hope it is, then we can have some idea of how the previous generation felt when they heard that Hitler had been surrounded and he took his own life. The Italians hanged Mussolini by his feet in the public square.

  2. Chuck says:

Now Obama is confirming bin Laden’s death. That makes me have some doubts about the veracity of the report.

  3. Tyler M says:

This is a very good day. I can’t wait to hear more about the brave members of our military & intelligence services who are responsible for sending Osama bin Laden to Hell.

I read somewhere that bin Laden got killed with a shot to the head. I envy the lucky man who got to take that shot. That guy is now my hero.

PAChyderm Coalition sent this message out via email this evening:

“God bless the men and women of our armed forces, intelligence community and all who worked for this historic day. While the fight against terrorism still wages on around the world, we ask that your prayers include lost family members and survivors of 9/11/2001, our service men and women who have sacrificed for our freedom and security, our police and firefighters who placed themselves in harms way to save our friends and neighbors. Because of their efforts and sacrifices we can finally say:

    OSAMA – YOU GONNA!

May God Bless You and God Bless America!”

According to Yahoo News, they said that American “officials said they were being handled in accordance with Islamic tradition”.

What a bunch of crap! They should take the bastard’s body, drive over it with a tank a few times, then burn it & rip it into pieces & mail parts of it to Iran, Venezuela, Syria & China to remind our enemies not to mess with us in the future.

    • Night Owl says:

      Unfortunately, political correctness reigns, Tyler.

I say we should stuff a piglet up his butt and another down his throat.

    • Tyler M says:

Oops. I was obviously referring to bin Laden’s body.

So Obama has said over and over again that bin Laden didn’t represent Islam & in fact stood against everything that Islam represents. So, why again would we have to treat the mass murderer’s body in accordance with Islamic respects?

      Alahhuakbar to that!

Pope John Paul the II is being beatified. That makes him one step away from being a saint. Do you know why? Because he said that celebrating death is evil. Especially celebration of death brought by man.

I dare you to call him a liberal.

Anyway, unless all of a sudden you believe lying Obama, Osama is still alive and well or died on a previous occasion.

In other words, there’s nothing to see here. Move on.

  7. Another LD11 PC says:

Did you note in the news stories that he is to be buried at sea? So, no one will really be able to verify we got him. Buried just like Obama’s birth certificate.

    • Kent says:

The thought of being in agreement with you (especially this early in the morning) gives me indigestion, but in this case I do.

      • Another LD11 PC says:

You disagree with my reverence for Pope John Paul II and his position on life?

  8. Joe Evans says:

During Obama’s trip to Turkey in 2009, his first visit to a Muslim nation as president, he declared the United States “is not and never will be at war with Islam.”

Now he repeats that sentiment in his statement from the White House announcing the death of Osama bin Laden: “…we must also reaffirm that the United States is not –- and never will be -– at war with Islam. I’ve made clear, just as President Bush did shortly after 9/11, that our war is not against Islam. Bin Laden was not a Muslim leader; he was a mass murderer of Muslims. Indeed, al Qaeda has slaughtered scores of Muslims in many countries, including our own. So his demise should be welcomed by all who believe in peace and human dignity.”

We might not be at war with Islam, but Islam is at war with us. Forgetting that simple truth is folly.

  9. Jason says:

Obama announced Osama‘s burial took place “in accordance with Islamic practice and tradition.” What the hell was that about? When Muslims murder Americans they often behead them with no regard to the faith of those they slaughter. They parade their victims heads around as mementos and videotaped the horrific executions. Does anyone think Christian or Jewish prayers are recited or those traditions are considered ? No wonder we are considered weak and easy targets by the Islamists.

  10. MacBeth says:

Osama is one of the most popular names in the Muslim world. He is revered. I believe facts before I’d ever believe Obama.

As far back as 2003 Osama was a popular name in Great Britain.

The Pakistani’s also find it a reputable name for both newborn boys and businesses.

Think about it, folks. And how much are we spending in Pakistan? The U.S. government has provided well over $18 billion in civilian and military aid of your money and mine to Pakistan since Sept. 11, 2001!

  11. Clyde Snow says:

Say Night Owl, what would be the purpose of stuffing “anther” down his throat?

Anther : the part of a stamen that produces and contains pollen and is usually borne on a stalk.

Maybe you are heavy into metaphors, but I don’t get it……

      Clyde, Clyde, Clyde…
At the conclusion of a busy Monday, is this really what rings your chimes? We pondered “anther” and concluded that Night Owl probably meant “another.” If we could figure that out, we’re willing to bet you did, too.

Your intrepid editors have made a joint decision to correct the word. If Night Owl has any problems with our overreach, he will no doubt let us know and we’ll reinsert “anther.”

While truly glad that such evil has been removed from this earth and, as a Christian, am sure that he is now in a MUCH warmer climate, I see BHO making political hay over this. He is urging Americans to continue their solidarity and no doubt will be taking tons of credit for this on the rubber chicken circuit.

Make no mistake- this was a result of years of work that started under the Bush Administration, gained momentum thanks to interrogations that BHO found abhorrent and culminated in a precision strike thanks to the greatest military on earth. All BHO has done during his presidency is apologize for Americas arrogance. Now he wants to take credit.

Umm, I don’t think so, Skippy.
