Surprise! NEA unionists endorse Obama

On the same day Americans celebrated our independence, members of the National Education Association union held their yearly conference in Chicago — Obama’s hometown — and voted not only to endorse his reelection but endorsed the continued dependence on big government Obama exemplifies. The union has 3.2 million members and bills itself as the nation’s largest labor union.

For a reminder of the union’s actual priorities, watch this brief but shocking video showing former NEA general counsel Bob Chanin’s retirement speech at the union’s 2009 national convention after 41 years as the education associations’ top lawyer. This is a passage in his own words.

I have found it increasingly necessary to spend time defending NEA and its affiliates against attacks from government agencies, conservative and right-wing groups and unfriendly media.  Why you may ask is this so?  Why are these conservative and right-wing bastards picking on NEA and it’s affiliates? I will tell you why.  It is the price we pay for success.  NEA and it’s affiliates have been singled out because they are the most effective union in the United States.

It embraced collective bargaining, it supported teacher’s strikes, it established a political action committee, it spoke out for affirmative action and it defended gay and lesbian rights.”

He continued as seen in this video:

“It is not because we care about children. And it is not because we have a vision of a great public school for every child. NEA and its affiliates are effective advocates because we have power. And we have power because there are more than 3.2 million people who are willing to pay us hundreds of millions of dollars in dues each year…”

Yesterday, the unionists also voted for a $10 increase in annual dues for their nearly 3 ½ million members — an additional $32 million  — intended to double the “crisis” fund’s annual budget

Read the ‘crisis” to be Obama’s faltering poll numbers. In a race against any unnamed “generic” Republican, Obama comes up short. Here is the latest Gallup polling.   All national polling data can be seen here. A majority — 53% — of Americans favor repeal of his unaffordable socialized Fed-Med scheme, which by its very nature will result in age and condition based rationing of care.

Remember that these unabashedly leftist unionists are influencing your children and grandchildren each and every weekday.  In the majority of households, they spend more time with children than their parents do.

Chanin perfectly represents the teacher’s union, which is why he served as their legal council for decades. His words are the clearest indication of what the NEA stands for, which is EVERY liberal cause under the sun, and NOT our children. I find him and this Obama-endorsing union disgusting!

Now, doesn’t that info make you feel EVEN BETTER about the $3 BILLION tax increase rip-off by RINO TRAITOR brewer that went PRIMARILY TO ARIZONA TEACHERS UNIONS?

THE LIE: “It’s ONLY a penny – and it’s for the CHILDREN”!
THE TRUTH: It’s $3 BILLION taken from the pockets of hard-working Arizona citizens and given to the teachers union to juice-up the already GOLD-PLATED benefits and HUMONGOUS pensions of these greedy public-sector crooks as a PAYOFF to the unions by brewer to help her re-election. Thanks to brewer, Arizona’s socialist indoctrinators (aka, “teachers”) will have ample taxpayer income to pay the additional $10 contribution to the d-cRAT socialist party.

Does anyone think it was by accident that schools across the nation pumped coverage of Obama’s speeches to schoolchildren directly into their classrooms? It was all part of the grand plan.

I wonder if membership in this radical leftist union is mandatory for teachers. If not, what percentage opt out of the union and how do they fare in their school districts?

I have many friends who are teachers and was shocked at how many felt like they had no choice but to pay the NEA dues under threat that if anything happened to the teacher, they wouldn’t have “insurance” through the union. They would be on their own to fight any lawsuit. So, they dutifully pay the ridiculous dues and now they get to also pay additional dues (tax) to support Obama. 3.2 million teachers in the union times $10 equals an instant 32 million dollars in Obama’s campaign. But, we HAD to pass the measly “it’s just a penny” sales tax increase to “save the teachers.” I wonder when these same teachers are going to figure out they are just being used as pawns.
