Obama’s megabucks 17 day Christmas vacation

Obama: No holiday adjournment for Congress

Tone-deaf Barack Obama and his family will spend 17 days in Hawaii on their annual Christmas vacation. No public events are scheduled for the trip, which is slated to run from December 17, 2011 to January 2, 2012.

News of the vacation comes on the heels of Obama declaring Congress shouldn’t adjourn for the holidays themselves until they pass an extension to the payroll tax cut. “We’re going to keep pushing Congress to make this happen. They shouldn’t go home for the holidays until they get this done,” Obama said today in his weekly radio address.

The Daily Mail reports that while the president’s family covers the cost of a private beach front vacation residence in Kailua, Oahu, nicknamed the ‘Winter White House,’ costing up to $3,500 a day, or $75,000 a month — America’s strapped taxpayers still foot the bill for the substantial security and travel costs. The Hawaii Reporter detailed  the family’s similar vacation last year cost $1,474,200. Be sure to read the addendum to the original report at the bottom of the article, which included an additional $280,000.

The lengthy Christmas vacation follows Obama’s 11-day trip to Martha’s Vineyard when he and Michelle took separate flights — on the generosity of American taxpayers. We were also on the hook for Michelle’s separate flight to Hawaii last year, which according to a White House Dossier analysis  likely cost taxpayers more than $63,000 — and possibly well in excess of $100,000 — in additional expenses.

Spending millions on vacations while the economy is in the tank is commonplace for this arrogant First Family. Let’s help them out and give them a permanent vacation in November 2012.

Will Rogers famously said, “Nobody’s life, liberty or property are safe while the legislature is in session.”

The same applies to when the Kenyan is on vacation: he can’t do nearly as much harm to our country while in Hawaii than when he is in Washington D.C.

Let’s encourage this poseur to spend as much time in Hawaii as he likes.

Fine. But not on our dime, garvan.

Would that we could get him off our dime, Rose, but that ain’t gonna happen. We’re going to be paying his freight until January 2013.

The next best thing is to get him out of Washington as much as possible, and to take the congress with him.

Check out my latest blog post on in which I mention how much it costs us when he flies HIS corporate jet. It’s in the article on loopholes.

    Either way, folks…?ANOTHER VACATION?!?!

…as I’ve said numerous times here…our electorate continues to SIT ON THEIR HANDS! I realize o-bow-mao’s vacations aren’t “illegal”…but he wouldn’t be takin’ so many of ’em if he was buzy TESTIFYING before a Congressional or Senatorial body about all th’ stuff he’s done that either walks th’ scalpel’s edge of legality, or is in fact illegal in it’s entirety.

This guy makes John Gotti (“Th’ Teflon Don”) look like #60 grit Sandpaper!

But……who will be left in the White House to admire the 37 Christmas trees?

    The waste is breathtaking.
