Petition signature fraud alive and well
The Sonoran News covers the forged signatures — copied verbatim as they appear in the telephone directory — and other abnormalities and inconsistencies in petition signatures collected by convicted felons on behalf of Andrew Chavez, owner and CEO of AZ Petition Partners, LLC and Black Top Strategies, LLC.
Chavez is the Democrat’s go-to guy for petition signature gathering. Hired by Citizens for a Better Arizona, he was engaged in the collection of signatures in the recall of former AZ Senate President Russell Pearce.
As criticism is hurled and censure is fine-tuned at the Arizona Republic, targeting any Republican who dares to breathe, these egregious activities go virtually unmentioned.
In Kentucky, Kenton County Attorney Garry Edmondson has filed a civil RICO (Racketeer Influenced Corrupt Organization) action against Chavez and his company in federal court. He says there is also an ongoing criminal investigation aimed at prosecuting those who may have committed second-degree forgery or were complicit in forging petition signatures, Class D felonies in Kentucky, which, upon conviction, can carry a prison term of up to five years.
Yet silence is the order of the day at the bastion of journalistic integrity — Arizona’s largest disseminator of agenda-driven news.
Another fine report by Linda Bentley.
