7 lip-service AZ Republicans dis religious freedom

The front page, above the fold headline in today’s edition of the consistently liberal Daily Endeavor screams out: “Dems, moderates block state birth-control bill.”

Mischaracterizations of the bill aside, the laser-beam focus should be on who those “moderates” are who voted with the “Dems,” and against HB 2625 sponsored by Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-Dist.9). The bill modifies certain insurance provider statutes related to religious beliefs and healthcare coverage. It specifies that coverage is not excluded for prescription contraceptive methods ordered by a health care provider with prescriptive authority for medical indications other than for contraceptive, abortifacient, abortion or sterilization purposes.

Republican posers voting with the Democrats are Rich Crandall, Adam Driggs, John McComish, John Nelson, Steve Pierce,  Michele Reagan and of course the jokester Jerry Lewis. Check them out here.

Sen. Nancy Barto (R-Dist. 7), usually no friend of the conservative caucus, yesterday employed a legislative maneuver with this amendment, voting against the bill in order to request a revote.

Rep. Lesko is the conservative PAChyderm Coalition’s top-rated House member, with a 95.2 score.

It seems that every state has it’s “official” list of state animals. Clearly the current designations for Arizona are incorrect, since the one and only state animal for Arizona is indisputably the RINO.

I wonder if AZ Right to Life endorsed or supported any of these Republicans?? SInce they endorsed McCain over Hayworth, which was a travesity in itself. Just curious. I know this is about our Liberty and Religious Freedoms and not about contraception – this is why it is so concerning.

Here’s the 2010 Arizona Right to Life endorsement list:
I see they foolishly endorsed some of the RINOs who voted with the Democrats on this bill; Adam Driggs, John Nelson, Rich Crandall, John McComish……there could be more. I have a meeting in a few minutes and couldn’t spend as much time as I’d like.

But then again, they endorsed John McCain over conservative JD Hayworth. McCain buys a table at their events.

How right you are! Here the idiot John McCain calls abortion “an unpleasant procedure” (for the baby who dies?) and advocates going back to the days before the pro-life plank was part of the Republican platform. Why anyone pays attention to this old flip-flopping fool is beyond me. But John Jakubczyk (?) who ran AZ Right to Life loves him.

    • Zach says:

Why would right to life be against contraception? Careful contraception reduces unwanted pregnancies and abortion.

      • garvan says:

        Some contraceptives are abortofacient.

BTW, Zach, aren’t you glad your mother was pro-life?

      • Zach says:

        @ garvan

The common morning after pill only works before conception. It does not abort a fertilized egg.

I’ve never heard. He sticks with the church line on issues that are pro-illegal immigration. That might be the connection with Señor Juan McAmnesty. Standing Tall is also right about McCain buying tables at the AZRTL events. He never shows up himself from what I hear, but the $$ speak loudly.

  4. Lil Scharenbroich says:

this was more about Religious Freedom than anything else, Rep. Debbie Lesko so well said. Shame on the Republicans who voted with the Dems. I will pray that Religious Freedom will win out and I thank Debbie Lesko for all she is doing to preserve our Nation for the principles on which this Nation was founded.

  5. Seen It All says:

These phoneys ran as pro-life Republicans and vote with the Planned Parenthood agenda. Haven’t we been duped long enough?

Michele Reagan is useless, unless the lobbyists for the beverage industry want her vote to keep the bars open later. Then she’s janey on the spot!
