Politicizing SB1070: Gov Brewer gets it right….again

Gov. Jan Brewer has responded to this amicus brief filed by Democrat Attorneys General in opposition to Arizona’s popular and much copied SB 1070. These liberal AG’s represent California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Brewer hit the nail on the head with this zinger: “This legal filing is pure politics and takes tortured logic and rank hypocrisy to new levels.”

It gets better. Read the governor’s complete, and well reasoned statement.

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear Arizona v. The United States on April 25. Last December 12, the High Court agreed to take the case involving key provisions of Arizona’s SB 1070

Here is Gov. Brewer getting it right the first time as she signs the “Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act” (SB 1070).

The Dems would have us believe there is nothing political here. How clear it is that this is an orchestrated and ongoing effort to undermine our Arizona law. I applaud Gov. Brewer.

  2. Maggie says:

Very telling that ALL of the AGs filing suit are Democrats. What an amazing coincidence!!

  3. Army Of One says:

The words “tortured logic and rank hypocrisy” have more than a ring of truth, don’t they? Very good word choices, Gov. !

  4. teapartypatriot says:

A politician that “get’s it right” on ONE issue, but “get’s it wrong” on dozens and dozens of issues (including a $3 BILLION one), isn’t worthy of praise for the ONE issue.

      TPP:
      It’s a MAJOR issue, bud.

How long have you been paying attention? Most of the tea party people I meet yell the loudest, hold everyone to a higher standard than humanly possible under the prevailing conditions and then have to admit they were never involved in the process when the rest of us, Jan Brewer included, were working as precinct committeemen, ringing doorbells, recruiting PCs and registering voters, pounding campaign signs in the heat when the ground was rock hard, getting out the vote for GOP candidates and actually (again like Brewer) putting their money where there mouth is and running for public office. I’ve spoken with some TPers who never even bothered to vote before they got active in the movement. The Republican Party has been around since Lincoln. What have you done?

    • Night Owl says:

You must have preferred Janet Napolitano, TPP. At least she didn’t disappoint you!
